My box just updated to 100A, I have no idea what it does.
Anyone else get it?
0x100A ? sure it wasn't 0x1004?
My R15 DVR got an upgrade last Tuesday morning. I didn't notice any difference.
It looks like an A to me! I can't give any proof because I don't have any video capture equipment.
My most recent firmware on D10-200's...
It fixes an internal receiver problem.
They are manufactured by two different companies, but are very similar recievers. They're probably same update and fix an internal reciever problem like dcmustang00 said.
wonder what it was
Presumably all D10-XXX use the same firmware. I sincerely doubt D* is sending individual updates for -100, -200, -300 units
Actually, they are. The D10, D10-200, and D10-300 are completely different boxes. For example (IIRC its been a bit) the D10-200 is actually a samsung SIR300W, and the D10 is a phillips DSX5500... although I could have that backwards.
I just did a 02468 force update on my D10-100 and it upgraded it to 0x102A
I just did my d-10, 100 ......it changed fom 107a(i think) to 101b. the original version was 201
D10 is manufactured by RCA. D10-200 is Samsung, and D10-300 is a Phillips.
D11-500 is a Humax. I think the D11-300 is a Phillips (looks just like a D10-300, but is silver). I'm not sure about the D11-100 and haven't seen any other models yet.
D10-XXX are manufactured by three differing manufacturers. However the D10-XXX are all built to D* specifications ( ie: same processors, same functional blocks ) , therefore the firmware should be universal. Even in the event that some hardware was significantly differant a unversal firmware would be able to identify what hardware it was running on and behave accordingly.
considering the large number for older boxes that D* still supports, it HIGHLY unlikely that D* sends seperate firmware for -XXX variants, as this would eat SIGNIFICANT bandwidth.
All Directv Receivers that have the -100 are made by RCA.
:righton: I thought it might be an RCA, but haven't paid enough attention to it to say for sure.
I don't see why you think it's unlikely when they do it with the R15. I have no clue why, there probably are some different things going on that DirecTV must only know about.
