    Maybe some diagramming dude can help out, but here's where things need to connect for the Group #3 team:

    Tail -> Power Supply
    Ethernet -> Router
    Coax Input -> Leg from splitter on SWM
    Filter -> Between SWM & splitter (can't remember if it's directional or not).

    The filter can only go on one way (easily) since it has a male and female end.

    Maybe this will help for the guys with the "old style" SWM... :)

    But it could go on either the SWM output or the splitter input, which would be in different directions. I highly doubt that it is directional, however, as there is no reason for it to be and doing so would complicate the circuitry and make it more expensive.

    I don't think it's directional, but it's been a while and I'm getting old.

    Does it have to go close to the SWM?

    Reason I ask is that it's raining here today, and I'd rather not be hooking it up to the SWM that is outside. As long as it is before the first splitter, can it go farther away from the SWM?

    I've mounted mine "both ways" and it isn't directional [most likely a simple ceramic filter].

    Thanks for the diagram. Looks like I'll be hitting the crawlspace this rainy, cold afternoon to install the filter. Fun! :D

    I'll eventually do that also, but I'm getting to be too old to do it in the kind of weather we have had recently (even a few years ago it wouldn't have bothered me). I figured a way to use the OTA line going to the bedroom to feed it from inside the house. I'll lose OTA in that room, but rarely watched it anyway (and I moved the AM21 to the HR24). When the trial is over, I probably will get another DECA adapter (when they become available) and move the HR21 back to that location.

    "Built in" perhaps? Maybe post the information on them for the masses here?

    I did not get a filter either. Seems to be working fine without it.

    Great! No clambering over wet grass to get into the crawlspace after all! :grin:

    Based on some of the comments from the people in the field trial I suspected it would work, but just wanted to note this since the filter's been referenced, but I still need to get under the house to do a minor reconfiguration of my SWM outputs.

    Now I need to get busy.

    Nice tiny PI. Nothing more than a plug.
    Short Patch cable and the DECA. Thats it.

    Will hook up after I get a splitter.

    No filter here either. I'll try and wing it without unless they say wait for one. Since Vos and others have said it doesn't seem to be necessary, I'll give it a try. Everything will be easily accessible for an on-the-fly change if it becomes needed.

    Received mine.

    Wow they are a lot bigger than I expected, I thought they were closer to the size of the BBCs from the pictures but they are a bit larger. No filter for me either.

    Getting them setup right now ;)
