Did the rates just go up? I went from 113.99 a month for HBO & Cinemax + Total Choice, HD on 2 boxes, 1 leased, 1 DVR.

    I went from 113.99 to now 126.09.

Interestinly enough, I was complaining to some friends at work about how much I hate D for raising rates. I remember paying under 100 for the same stuff not long ago. I dont even get locals.

    Im super fed up.

There have been numerous other threads on this topic. Bottom line is, the increase isn't any higher than other national providers.

Yes as mentioned rates went up I dropped Cinemax and kept the 3 other premiums since they have orig. programming that my wife and i like. My rate before was 149.09 was going to 155.23 so,with increase and a tighter budget in the last 7mos I adjusted to keep bill at or now will be less then before.I, still kept my HD Extra with the 3 premiums for now do have whole house set up with 1hd dvr and 2 hd boxes.

That was my reaction in 2010. Honestly I dropped all the premiums, I just wasn't making use of them.

Get the hd x pack free for 3 mnths in your account on the website.
Then before 3 mnths is up just call to cancel it.
Then 1 hour later go back to website & get 3 free mnths again.

& it goes on & on & on.

    up & down the blvd.

No, my rates didn't go up last month, but they will in March. So I guess I was one of the lucky ones.

All in the timing of the bill.

To the OP, you think that's bad, some Frontier TV subscribers got a $30 increase. Now that's an extreme example but they all increase their prices. Their costs go up, channels they carry want more money, etc.

The thing to do with price increases is to ask yourself if you want to keep the premiums. HBO alone is $16 a month.

The other thing would be, have you called DirecTV and gotten on the HD free for two years? It requires autopay, but that alone would get you within a few dollars of what you paid before.

That is correct, though they still could have seen an overall increase with the $1 bump in the extra receiver fee.

I'm curious what else is on your account.

Sounds like you have 4 receivers, so your total increase there would have been $3 per month.

HBO went up $1 per month.

Total Choice went up $3 per month.

That's a $7 increase. Is the rest in taxes or is there something else on your account?

For new customers the package price is the same, the made the rebates worth more.

    Southern...
At least DirecTV raises rates generally just once a year.
I paid $3.65 per gallon for gas last Thursday. By Monday the price was $3.75. Yesterday it was $3.79. Haven't left the house yet today...

That stayed the same, though packages that include DVR service got bumped, and there is the $3 MRV fee. Of course if you have a DVR that isn't your primary receiver, that lease/mirror fee did go up a dollar.
