I add 60 minutes to CSI Miami and don't worry about it.
Uh, maybe NOT! NBC did that in the late 60's with the Oakland Raiders/NY Jets game.....cut it off at 6 central and went straight to I think Walt Disney showing Heidi. It forever became known as the Heidi Bowl. Of course, since I know this, it means I am old enough to remember it happening so my facts could be off some. Bottom line, is if you watch CBS or Fox Sunday night programming, pad the darn programs by an hour or two. For example, if you watch Undercover Boss and CSI Miami, pad both by two hours. Even though they overlap, it will not tie up but one tuner on your HD DVR. Just my solution, FWIW.
28+ million were watching football at 7:30-8:00 blowing away everything else on tv last nite....yea go back to regular programming.

Being on the East coast Sunday nights are the main reason I love getting DNS from West Coast. I tell my wife just record all your shows on Sunday from LA.
Just like the Heidi game! I pad Undercover Boss to a ridiculous level, 4 hours to get all of it and Amazing Race. Hasn't failed me yet
How did that work out for you last night since CSI was delayed by 1:07 and some even inserted their local news before showing CSI?
No idea why CBS just doesn't remove 1 show on Sunday nights when they have a late game or simply extend a post-game show to 8pm as the 4:15pm Sunday game always runs well past 7pm. Makes it easier for people to DVR a CBS Sunday night show. I don't watch anything Sunday nights on CBS, but am sure this really PO'd lots of people each week.
I have just resorted to getting Undercover Boss and CSI:Miami from other sources. If CBS runs late I'll always lose CSI because of the switch to local news and no telling when they'll replay it late at night.
No clue, Im about 2-3 weeks behind on DVR's as we speak. If I did not get all of it, no biggie to me, that show is small potatoes. I do agree, this is very stupid of CBS.
I did check the schedule on CBS for this Sunday. I only see a 1PM (eastern) game listed. So maybe this week's broadcasts will happen on time.
BTW -- The spelling errors above are not mine -- they come from WKRG-5 Mobile/Pensacola web site.
Sometimes I forget that there are millions of people who don't record anything. They just watch. All of us here with our high class problems...
CBS and FOX alternate the late game week to week. Since CBS had it last week, FOX will have it next week. So every other week it is not a problem.
I pad the Amazing Race for an hour and got burned for the first time on Sunday by 10 minutes. I ended hooking up the laptop to the tv and watching it from CBS.com.
You should have seen the look on my wifes face when the show ended with 10 minutes left. :eek2:
I'm from Indiana and my girlfriend is from Pennsylvania, so we were SUPER psyched about the Colts-Eagles game. But it was on the local station here in DC instead of on my Sunday Ticket. At first, I was mad that WUSA went to the OT Lions game after finishing up the Dolphins game, so I missed the first two scores of the Colts and Eagles. (Of course Sunday Ticket had it blacked out since my local was SUPPOSED to be carrying Colts-Eagles.)
I have to say... Even for a die hard Colts fan with a girlfriend who is an Eagles fan... That game was SSSSLLLOOOOWWWW!!!! It seemed to drag on FOREVER!!!! At first I thought it was just me, since our entire team except for Manning is out injured. (Jacob Tamme? Blair White?) But even my girlfriend said the game was the slowest she's ever seen.
I pad CSI:Miami by 1.5 hours and even that wasn't enough. I don't think I got the whole Criminal Minds episode. I'll be padding CSI:Miami by three hours on a couple of my HRs for the rest of the football season. That should work, no?
Oh, how well I remember that cursed game. Being a Jets fan isn't easy.
When CBS only has one game, some areas of the country will get a game on CBS that starts at 4:05 Eastern, so those areas (when they're in the Eastern and Central time zones, at least) will end up with Sunday's prime-time programming pushed back. This coming week, it will be whichever parts of the country get the Chiefs-Broncos game.
The easy way to tell which network has the doubleheader is just check the 4:15 games for that week:
- if the road teams are AFC then its a CBS doubleheader.
- if the road teams are NFC then its a FOX doubleheader.
Of course as train mentioned those markets getting the kc/den game may run late obviously too.
Interesting! I can't remember us ever having that situation here. But then again, we don't have a "local" team, so we will get the 1:00 game of either the Bengals, Browns or Steelers.
On weekends where the only game is a late game it is scheduled as a 4:05 PM ET kickoff not 4:15 PM ET.
