Heh. I was working on getting my 3rd HR20 when I got the PM and called back to cancel it. And found they'd charged me too much for it! So--whew. Man, that was a nightmare. I call last week to have my HR10 taken off the account and an HR20 sent to me. They say they will do that. Wednesday, I get an R15. I call and say they sent the wrong thing. They explain that they don't send out HR20s, those need to be installed and it will be three weeks. And it will be $300. I talked them down to shipping, except they ended up billing me $99 and then I got the PM and cancelled it all. I still have the R15 which I've not activated--they're sending me a pre-paid shipping slip but I've not gotten it yet.

I asked my brother if he wanted me to keep the R15 so he could use it instead of his DVR80. He said no. (He's moving out next summer so I'll have no need anyway to keep that box.)

He keeps saying, "You need a new 60 inch TV so you can give me this one." He's a dreamer. ;)

I was actually in the process of getting a second HR20 myself when I got Earl's PM. It seems the timing has been very good for many of us.

I was preparing my statements (to the wife) on a 3rd HR20 and new HDTV.:D
The HR21 will definitely help the HDTV acquistion proposal!

Well, o'course, being the younger brother we have to ensure it grows better-stronger-faster! I will also max it out on all fronts as much as possible. Hopefully without many hicups, burps, or evisceration.

I think, for the initial testing, I'll have the HR21-200 right next to the HR20 in my office. I'll use the HR21 as my primary unit until it settles down and then move it to the family room and replace the HR10-250 so the wife can use it.

SWM is a wonderful thing as that's how the units will be connected.

Those SWM are enticing...I hope Santa is good to me this year. ;)

I put the HR21 on the same 60" Sony that I have one of the HR20s in "my" room and moved an H20 upstairs to replace a little used R-15 on an SD tv. I split my time and recording list between the two boxes with some duplicates and use each of them each day. Last night was one of the few times I had not turned on the HR21 yet and saw the thread about a software push. The box was already updates so of course I had to test for a while. The initial software release was a bit buggy with the network setup and the push-and-hold Info button problems, but is mostly good. Between the two receivers, I have six tuners and two buffers so I'm good to go. :D

My HR21 is connected in my Home Theater to an HD projector and 106" screen. Audio is fed to a top end Onkyo unit.

I am. How else can you truly test it under daily conditions if you aren't using it daily? :)

Trust me, mine gets worked out harder on a daily basis than if it were my primary DVR. I sometimes feel sorry for the overworked HR21.

Same here...its really #1 on my signature, but #2 in terms of user-frequented location. That said, it gets daily use beyond the other HR20-700's here, not to mention that "special attention" testing that the HR21 truly deserves...:D

Well, mine's the first system listed below, my primary DVR attached to my primary TV and my 7.1 surround receiver. It gets a daily workout, always goes into standby at night, and plenty of well-conditioned air flow, just like the HR20 did in its place. :p

I get a lot of PMs about non-DIRECTV equipment in my signature, so it stays. I hope I've helped some people.

As of right now no new information in my account on DirecTV. Nothing new on the satellite either (except for the HR21-700 and unk-0x20).
