9.1 and 9.2 only came in for a day and went out again. This problem is only with my hr23 with am21. Locals channels went away after directv added channel 25 in hd.

    What receivers are affected: HR20-700
What market you're in: Lincoln, NE
What zip code you're using to get guide data: 68640 (secondary 68101)
What channels are affected: OTA 8.2
What's happening currently: Since 2/24 (approximately), 8.1 comes in fine, but 8.2 has SFS 771 on both hr20-700 boxes. Signal strength for both channels on both tuners is 95% - 100%. 8.1 and 8.2 both come in if cabled direct to tv. DirecTv and KLKN seem uninterested in resolving the issue.

Finally gave in and called the Tribune number provided above and they were very polite and responsive. Said there was no immediate indication of why this is happening and would escalate and look into it. It at least feels like there is at least a possibility of a resolution now.

Thanks to all for the information available here.

I have the HR22 and off-air tuner to receive my local channels. One week ago, I lost the signal to the NBC (KYMA) and CBS (KSWT) channels. I know just get the 771 error. I can still receive the local Fox (KECY) and ABC channels just fine. I live in Yuma, Arizona and signal strength appears to be good. I can't get an answer from Directv other than to contact local stations, and can't get local stations to answer the phone. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to call Tribune Media Services. Read back in this thread for the phone number. Ask for the person who deals with DirecTV.

Refer to my post #243 for details.

Per my last contact with Tribune, if I am receiving guide information (which I am), that is all they are responsible for and they can be of no other assitance to me regarding the sfs 771 problem. I hope others have better luck with DirecTv then I have had over the last 2 months.

Thanks for your reply. I called them last night and spoke with them. They had no idea what I was talking about. I told them I found their phone number on this website and she said to snail mail the local television station that all they do is update the guide.

Happy to report that after considerable effort, Lincoln DMA KLKN channel 8.2 OTA now coming through on both DirecTv HR20-700 receivers. Uberminifestivus for me! :joy:

Doubtful you will see this, but Thanks a Ton, Theresa!

Edit: To note this is for 8.2 OTA signal.

What receivers are affected - HR20-700

What market you're in - Memphis

What zip code you're using to get guide data - 38133

    What channels are affected -
    WMC-DT / NBC Channel 5.1, Frequency 52
    WREG-DT / CBS Channel 3.1, Frequency 28

    What's happening currently -

Seemingly at random every few days, the affected stations are remapped to either the Fox (WHBQ-DT 13-1) frequency 53 or to an empty frequency resulting in 771. When attempting to tune to these channels, either a 771 results or the Fox WHBQ signal is tuned. Scheduled recordings are affected in the same way. I have two HR20-700s. Both of these boxes have had the same issue repeatedly, though not usually at the same time.

The resolution of your issue, if any (such as, did rerunning Antenna Setup help) -

Menu restart of the HR20 corrects the problem temporarily.

Our local PBS station KRMJ switched to their final channel allocation almost 2 months ago and our AM21 has not had it since. I thought it might just take a little time to come up, but not as of yet.

KTKA 49 in the Topeka market just added another subchannel, 49.3, this week. It will carry CW programming. Could we get it added to the HR-2x list of locals for Topeka, KS and get Tribune to include guide info for it?

Killeen-Temple-Waco -- KNCT(PBS) OTA: KNCT removed 46-2 subchannel (SDTV version of 46-1) and moved the Pentagon channel(46-3) to 46-2. The channel guide still shows the Pentagon channel on 46-3.

After transition unable to access ABC affiliate WLS channels 7.1/7.2/7.3 in Chicago area via OTA

    # What receivers are affected: HR21-700 with AM21
    # What market you're in: Chicago/Gary IN
    # What zip code you're using to get guide data: 60025
    # What channels are affected: 7.1, 7.2, 7.3
    # What's happening currently: channels appear in guide, but receive 771 error msg when accessing; the channels moved from digital channel 52 to digital channel 7 at noon Friday as part of the DTV transition
    # The resolution of your issue, if any: none so far; have done several resets and initial satellite installation. Called DirecTV and technical support was unable to help resestablish those channels. All worked fine prior to the DTV conversion and am currently picking up successfully another DTV channel in the VHF spectrum. Was the guide mapping for these channels changed?

    Receiver HR20-700
    Channel 30-1
I have a strange problem with the digital switch. I cannot receive ABC 30.1 ota since the switch but I am able to receive 30.2 and 30.3. It is strange that I can receive the sub channels but not the main channel. The main channel is coming in on sat with Directv but not ota. Any ideas on how to fix this . ABC Fresno went from digital 9 to digital 30. Also I cannot receive 45.1 from Bakersfield now. 45 switched from digital 55 to digital 45.

What market you're in: Dallas/Fort Worth

What zip code you're using to get guide data: 75034

    What channels are affected: 11-1

What's happening currently: Very low signal strength on 11-1 after transition. KTVT CBS 11 was strong on RF 19 pre-transition and now very low post transition using RF 11.

The resolution of your issue, if any (such as, did rerunning Antenna Setup help): Have run Antenna Setup several times since local transition at 12 noon yesterday and have seen no improvement.

KQFX DT 22.1 is missing from the guide

    # What receivers are affected: HR20-100
    # What market you're in: Columbia/Jefferson City, MO
    # What zip code you're using to get guide data: 65203
    # What channels are affected: KQFX 22.1
    # What's happening currently:
our local FOX affiliate KQFX, moved from it's low power analog channel 38 to a low power digital channel 22.1 after the analog shutdown on the 12th. When I scan directly from my TV, it shows up just fine. When I scan the HR20 to add the OTA channels, all of the local channels show up except for 22.1.

Is there a database that DirecTV uses to limit the OTA channels on the HR20? What would be the best way to let DirecTV know that they need to update their database?
