 I have a Direct TV HD set-up and want to add my off-air antenna and diplex it down same cable. I can't get my local channels in San Diego, so I am pointing at LA. Need a pre-amp for the Antenna (Winegard AP-4700). Now, since the sat. dish needs a power pass and the pre-amp needs a power pass I obtained a SVI 35-SDX100DC Power pass Diplexer - with power pass to both sat and antenna. Will the different voltages on each link be a problem? If so how do I solve this problem?

Yup - you've identified the problem. The LNB/switch needs to see 13V vs. 18V to switch transponder bands.

    Two possible solutions:
    1. If the pre-amp will run on a variable voltage from 13-18VDC just use the power-passing diplexer and hope your receiver has got enough oomph to drive both units.
    2. Use a NON repeat NON power-passing diplexer and put the power-inserter closer to the pre-amp than the diplexer.

Best to run a cable just for OTA
