I am new here as I am doing some research. My wife and I have moved to Ecuador and were wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to have a Direct TV account set up and running using a US address and being able to pick up the signal in Ecuador.
Yes Ecuador does have Direct TV but we would like the US networks which are not available here.
Would it be difficult to set up the dish here?
    Thanks in advance

It would be a violation of your TOS.
I don't believe the footprint of the US satellites even go that far south, so I don't even think it is even possible.

Not possible, the beam used by DirecTV USA's satellites only reaches the USA and parts of Mexico and Canada.

Is there any specific shows you're missing? Some of the major shows air on a same week basis, some even air before the USA. A few of the networks offer English audio via a SAP feed.

Maybe a slingbox could solve this problem.

Keep a receiver in the US and access it via a slingbox.

And many of the shows can be accessed on the channel's web sits.

The slingbox is probably the best bet...as for them being accessed on the channel's websites a lot of them will block you if you're trying to view from outside the US.
He may have some luck with some of the DirecTV Everywhere options for web viewing but will probably run into the same issues of not being able to view it outside the US.

    Slingbox should have no problems.
