CSTV HD and TENNIS CHANNEL HD are now up on Directv.
I agree. It would be very interesting to hear (in programming meetings) why these channels decide to do this...
Honestly, although we geeks abhor it, I suspect it's because most people would rather see a stretched picture. They feel like if they're not using the whole display, they're missing out on something.
neither channel has come up on mine, and have not had any problems with any other hd release channel
I've only checked my HR20, will check h20 in a bit
More then likely, for stretch-o-vision, people are a lot like my 82 year old grandmother. Who believe, that when a show is on a HDTV it's automatically in HD...stretched, pillarboxed, or otherwise...
My 88yr old Grandma has HR-20 and can't stand the "black bars". She'd rather watch stretch-o-vision.
What is cstv?
Never mind I found out.
Where is Dolly? She loves Tennis.
Well that's kind of true, isn't it? The HDTV upconverts the signal...
I didn't know you hung out over here... I thought you lived in the Columbia Thread over in AVS forums.
Did you update your channels if you're using a "Favorites" guide?
Someone has to be the voice of reason on the Columbia thread on AVS
What are the channel numbers?
I get the Tennis Channel but the CSTV says I didn't purchase it.
217 & 610
I get 217, but 610 says it requires subscription.
CSTV, ch 610, requires the Sports Pack or Premier Package.
Any chance the Uconn UCF game is in HD tonight at 8pm on CSTV?
