You mean Fire Stick?
Yep. All I watch on ESPN is Formula 1, so if I have to pay Amazon to watch it on Firetv for the rest of the season so be it. I won't be able to dvr the races but at least I'll be able to watch the rest of the races. ESPN is the only way to watch Formula 1 in the USA.
The idea that ESPN thinks their networks are worth $8+/sub is mind boggling. I watch a few Sunday night baseball games per year and a few Monday night football games a year.. that's it. If we lose ESPN, not a big loss.
I mean I don't know why anyone would just dump D* because of the Disney dispute. Sling TV has a great deal on Sling Orange for $15 for the first month ($25 for the first month if you add the sports extra for SEC) and we know if the channels go dark AT&T is going to be handing out dispute credits like candy similar to when the Nexstar/CBS disputes happened. So there is a way to get the programming temporary at a low cost.
According to this article, the agreement was to end this evening at 6:00 PM Eastern, but they were still negotiating. If they are talking still, that’s something I suppose.
Blackout news: ESPN, SEC, ACC networks might disappear for DirecTV subscribers; Dish gets CBS46 back
This matches up with what my friend texted me earlier when he was on break at the local AT&T (former D*) call center that there was a "1 hour extension" at 6pm but he never specified when the end time was. I guess when he texted me at 6pm that was the original end time
Again, this is your personal preference.. For me, ESPN is basically all I watch, especially from Friday Night through Sunday Morning with College Football and Fantasy Football show. In fact, The PSU/Pitt game is tomorrow on ABC. I will def be cancelling tomorrow if it goes out. I am a football buff, I work all week and pay my cable bill to watch football on weekends.. Sure there are games on CBS Sports, Fox, FS1, but they are Conf-USA, Pac 12, and Mountain West teams I have little interest in.
For me, it’s College Football & the 3 Tennis Grand Slams events they’re locked in to. I will watch F1 but preferred the coverage when NBC had it.
The rest of their programming is brain numbing garbage IMO with those idiotic talking head shows. Stick to SPORTS!
I don't watch much sports personally (I know I'm a rare breed of male). However I do watch ESPN's eSports coverage more than the actual sports (I love video games). My main fave out of the bunch is Freeform. 31 Days of Halloween is life.
Midnight EST tonight.
Still have it
well, it's now 11:05 PM CT and now passed midnight ET. the channels in dispute are still not yet off. i give it a few hours. it took 2 to 4 hour for the CBS owned channels to go dark when that dispute began.
Would I lose my local ABC station in Cleveland?
Only ABC owned and operated stations ...
"WABC Channel 7, KABC Channel 7, WTVD ABC 11, KGO ABC 7, KTRK ABC 13, KFSN ABC 30, WLS ABC 7, WPVI ABC 6, the ESPN and Disney networks, and Freeform may soon no longer be available on DIRECTV and AT&T video lineups."
I'm in the same boat as you but there's a better option.
F1TV is available for the USA. Formula 1
F1 Pro is F1, F2, F3, & Porsche Supercup live broadcast and immediate VOD replays of races, qualifying, & practices. Sky Sports UK coverage(same broadcast ESPN shows), as well as on board cameras and team radio for all F1 cars. $9.99/month
F1 Access is nothing live, only VOD of everything above but 48 hour delay. $2.99/month.
So if ESPN is off DirecTV, we can still see Formula 1.
Plz God let this be a Viacom situation and they come to a last minute deal plz God!
FYI despite the extension the House of Mouse's messaging continues and so does Deathstar's black bars as of 3:30 AM EDT
There still on, so no midnight blackout.
The tweet above from a guy close to this said an extension was agreed upon for 9AM EST. After that who knows??
Just in time for Collage Gameday to begin no coincidence at all from Disney as ESPN most popular show starts
