Is the deadline now Monday midnight? Will we miss part of the NY Jets - Cleveland Clowns?
Oddly, when he deleted his tweets, my first thought was an agreement between ESPN and DirecTV has been reached.
Disney takes a double hit in rights fees and advertising revenue if the channels go dark. I think AT&T is taking a long term view to obtain needed flexibility in channel bundling and fees. To lock themselves into the status quo for another 4 or 5 years is probably not a viable option for AT&T. They are willing to take a subscriber hit just like they were when they restructured their streaming service. The objective is to offer competitive services as cord cutting becomes more prevalent.
So either Ray Cole has no idea what he is talking about or ESPN just told him to shut down the updates. It's past the 2pm deadline he last posted so who knows. He is just a liason for ESPN anyway, I'm sure he knows people but is not involved in talks and who knows the info he is getting is true. I read an article that states that the deadline was 9am and a short term extension was reached but nobody knows for how long. My gut says it lasts for now and they will come to an agreement which you will only find out when it's been done for more than a few days.
Broadcasters and content providers don’t “sit” on agreements...
Drop in a bucket for Disney...
I'm getting "not authorized" messages when I try to watch any of the games on the ESPN app, but I can view the games on DirecTV. I'm authenticated with my DirecTV account.
No problems here.
What device? Try uninstalling/reinstalling the app?
Samsung tablet. I just installed the new ESPN app recently when the WatchESPN app quit working.
ESPN app is the biggest pain in *** of all the sports apps IMO. Doesn’t matter how long ago you installed it. I would try logging out and log back in first. Uninstall it if that doesn’t work or try another device if you have one. I have no issues on my iOS devices.
It's work in on my Samsung smart TV. I'll try logging out and back in. And yes, the ESPN app is a pain.
Just saw a tweet from herbstreet of them watching games from the gameday bus earlier today ummm wonder who supply’s those games on mutiiple TVs on that bus has to be direct tv
I'm sure ESPN could afford a subscription to DISH if needed.
I’m sure they could too just would have been a problem today unless the backhaul truck could give em the raw feeds
The receivers look like DIRECTV H24s to me. Hopefully the sets are wired where they could take a feed from the truck. (The receivers can also be seen in the Twitter video.)
A couple things:
1) It seems ESPN has stopped running the "Call DirecTV" spots in their crawl.
2) Friday, KGO TV, an ABC O&O in San Francisco, had an article on their site. The title was a plea for customers to call DirecTV to complain about a possible loss of channels.
Here is the link to article. Read the URL:

Could the impasse be over? Or just kicked down the road?
Still mentioned on the AT&T site, but Disney seems to have taken down their warnings.
AT&T TV Promise - DIRECTV, DIRECTV NOW, U-verse
Also, during the dispute, everyone was encouraged to visit this website for more info on how to keep your Disney channels in the event of a service disruption.
That page now lists DirecTV and AT&T TV Now, with clickable links to their websites.
From a news article early this week:
Customers were urged to call a phone number, 888-741-4388, that plays a recorded message offering to connect viewers to AT&T so they can urge them to keep the channels.
Call it now?
A badly recorded busy signal.
