AMEN! I rarely look at the HD anticipation thread anymore because that is all it is now. This is a DIRECTV forum. There are U-VERSE forums. Take all that crap there. It would not be tolerated if people were posting Dish stuff here. Just because they are both AT&T doesn't mean we care at all. It's REALLY annoying.

I guess we disagree. When they lose millions of paying customers and 20% of their yearly income for a bit, maybe they will be humbled. This market can not sustain the increases all these channels want to keep passing. Its out of hand. What other business gets to jack their rates up so massivly every few years? All these channels need put in their place ESPN especially.

I think your missing the reason those U-Verse TV carriage expiration notices are being posted here now. 97% of AT&T's contracts for their channels they carry across DirecTV, U-Verse TV, AT&T Watch TV, AT&T TV Now & AT&T TV all share the same contract. Meaning those U-Verse TV posts from July 2019 about The Walt Disney Co. channels (ESPN, Disney, Freeform, ABC O&O stations) expiring in this month apparently applies to DirecTV, AT&T TV Now and AT&T TV.

This has also been proven true with A&E Networks, Viacom, CBS Corp., Nexstar Media Group, Starz/Starz Encore, Northwest Broadcasting and with some of the locals that were pulled in May and June this year. The only disputes that do not affect DirecTV are the channels obviously not carried on DirecTV (like Pac-12 Networks) or NFL Network because DirecTV's carriage of NFLN is tied to their exclusivity agreement for NFL Sunday Ticket.

The U-Verse TV carriage expiration posts have also alerted us that AT&T's contract with Sinclair's Owned & Operated stations and Gray Television's former Raycom stations are about ready to expire. I agree the HD Anticipation thread may not be the best place for these posts however we could create a sticky thread just for these U-Verse TV announcements so those who want to keep ahead of AT&T's contract exasperation can still view this valuable information since it does affect DirecTV.

Also except for the Altitude dispute (where this subform was discussing the removal of that channel from Dish/DirecTV/Comcast before any other subform) the bit about posting Dish stuff here really isn't comparable to the U-Verse TV contract expiration posts.

Maybe. First not every bar has NFLST, but to think that any establishment that does is going to sit by and let money walk out the door the other six days of the week, because they have no ESPN content (including MNF and probably half of the NCAA football content) is rediculious. At best, a bar will supplement with cable, internet or DISH, and dump DirecTV forever in early January; at worst they tie it up in court.

DirecTV's business model requires it to have all of the ESPNs, and both sides know that.

I'll worry about it when if it happens. Going to some website or sending a tweet that says "If you guys drop ESPN, I'm outta here !" ain't gonna do squat. As much as sports fans (like me) want their ESPN, people with kids will scream to the high heavens if they lose the other Disney channels. AT&T will have a PR nightmare if they drop the mouse, even for a couple of days.

Silly disputes like this is why I own 2 Amazon Fire Sticks (Xanax). In event of a blackout I'll go that route to access ESPN until the NFL season ends, then make a decision (depending on the availability of the ESPN suite) as to whether or not to continue with Directv.

So you're going to watch ESPN illegally in the event of a blackout? Unless Disney cracks down on that service first, of course.

it seems AT&T is at it again. this time, they are censoring the ESPN ticker to hide the fact that Disney and AT&T are in a dispute. they did this a while back with the Viacom dispute where Viacom's ticker was censored by AT&T and then Viacom move the ticker around only for it it to kept getting censored until Viacom kept changing it to the point that it became to hard to hide it with a blank black spot.

i have photo proof it the censorship by AT&T in question. ESPN Dispute warning.jpg ESPN Ticker Censored 3.jpg ESPN Ticker Censored.jpg ESPN Ticker Censored 2.jpg

Was watching MNF last night at work on my iPhone from the ESPN app. Not that I pay much attention to the scroll at the bottom all the time, but I don’t recall seeing any message regarding a dispute either.
I despise both of these behemoths, but if Disney Vision gets blacked out then surely we’ll get a discount on our bill, right? Right?

Odd seeing as directv just added ACC Network I was thinking who is dropping? being MNF with no blackout I was thinking it was not directv that was going to drop it.

how many do they really have?? Or did they auto switch cable to the Reverse mirror feed?
