I suppose if there was a good time to lose ESPN, at least temporarily, it would be this weekend. No must-see games in College Football.

A “good time” would’ve been 2 to 3 weeks ago...

CSR just told me that the ESPN and Disney channels will go dark at midnight EST.

This sucks I know the tv industry as a whole is different now with "cord cutting " but att is messing up DirecTV s image .

DirecTV was know to be the sports leader in TV.

Now att has made DirecTV known for blackouts .

I wish it were reverse and cable cos lost disney agreement...not D*

I know fios just renewed with Disney

Wouldn't want to be a Directv CSR this weekend if this actually happens. Some will receive a crash course that will result in English becoming their first language. ;)

I think I’m to blame, and I’m sorry.

I was previously with DISH, but got tired of their constant contract negotiations and channels being removed. DIRECTV seemed more stable and cutting the cord in the boonies wasn’t an option, so here I am.

And ever since I came over, DTV has decided to play hardball with channel providers. I’m so very sorry. I’m the curse.

Well, it looks like I'll be signing up for ESPN with Amazon so I can watch Formula 1 and kicking Directv to the curb. I'm so done with these silly disputes. I'm not paying more for less with AT&T any longer. The consumer always gets the smelly end of the stick with this. Neither side cares not one bit about the subscribers.

Yes to both. word is getting out and an apparent deadline is approaching.

It confuses me when I read complaints from people paying $200 per month for DIRECTV satellite while others report getting $120 off per month. Certainly not the same people. Prices shouldn't vary by $120 just because a customer won CSR roulette. Even the more common reports of people getting $55 or $60 per month seems like a large swing in pricing.

When is ESPN supposed to go dark? On the channel they are blacking out the message on the bottom line.

I think they're playing Russian Roulette with five rounds in the gun this time. This is going to cost both sides dearly.
