Just wanted to let everyone know that the DirecTV Support Forum (http://forums.directv.com ) is being replaced by the new AT&T DirecTV Community Forum (https://forums.att.com/t5/DIRECTV-Community/ct-p/directv ) starting today. No new posts can be made at the old DirecTV Support Forum. The new AT&T Community also can't take new posts for the next day or two while content is being migrated from the old forum to the new one.

no Directv forums and DBSTalk are two separate platforms. DBSTalk is not being affected by this change.

Didn't mean to cause any confusion with DBSTalk! I know some folks here post regularly both here and the DirecTV corporate support forum. It's the DirecTV corporate forum that's going away and being replaced by a new forum at AT&T's site.

Will AT&T employees actually have a social media presence there, taking input for suggestions, reaching out for escalations, promoting new features, hardware, content? Like how the xfinity employees interact with customers over at their site?

Or is it going to be the same, boring drab and dull FUD that keeps us here, edgecutter and satguys? If they actually have REAL employees that forward real bug reports in NR software, then maybe there is some value. Otherwise it's just yelling into a forest with nobody in it.

There seems to be posters labelled as AT&T with the Death Star logo identifying them. Whether they are helpful or not is a different story.

I do sometimes envy the Dish subscribers that have DIRT here.

I've been participating at the AT&T DirecTV Community for a few months now. There is MUCH more employee participation than we ever had at the old DirecTV Forum. Their employees are pretty quick to jump on customer satisfaction and billing sorts of issues. I also like their forum software way better than the Jive software at the old forum.

The AT&T employees do seem to be quite helpful. They're quick to take billing and customer satisfaction posts into a private message sessions, so it's a bit hard to know if the outcomes are positive or not. At least they're way more responsive than we ever saw in the old DirecTV forum, which had virtually zero employee participation.

Maybe this is why I get things resolved more with some companies through Twitter. Public and they can't delete it.

Has anyone looked at the Firmware Watcher in the last couple of days ? All versions of updates are all greyed out.
Have they stopped developement of those or just stopped those people from posting it ?

Probably just an issue with the website or the system doing the collection that the owner hasn't noticed or had the time to correct.

    Hmmm, sort of.

They can be deleted but may remain on someone else's stream under certain circumstances

Got an notice today from the new forum that I'm a bricklayer.

Went there and was able to sign in with no issues. I even replied to a post.

So that migration seems to have been done correctly.

I don't like the layout of the new forum at all. Everything is mixed together and confusing. I imagine that most of their posters will just end up here.

Spend some time with the forum's display options. It took me a few weeks to set things the way I like. I find it quite usable now. Much better than the Jive software at the old DirecTV Forum. But still not as good as DBSTalk's :)
