But does DIRECTV really wants to have cable switched FSN feeds on Directv vs the part time ones in place now. Different rules for locals also get into the mix.

    NFL ticket?

That's not feasible for stuff like the missing locals on AT&T TV, NFLST, the P/I channels that are carried on Directv due to FCC regs but not necessary on AT&T TV, or some international channels where they might have a contract allowing them to carry it via satellite but someone else has the streaming license.

If it is a matter of some minor channel hardly anyone watches sure I suppose that's fine in theory but since even doing so in those cases doesn't really help the situation there's no point in pissing off whoever watches that minor channel by dropping it to match the other platform.

As we see U-Verse TV wind down I doubt most of the minor channels still exclusive to U-Verse TV will be carried over to DirecTV/AT&T TV unless the owners offer AT&T a deal they like. For the D*'s P/I channels it is always possible they can add them without government interference however it just depends on the terms of a deal AT&T is cool with. D* can keep the advertisement channels tho :D .

In all honestly AT&T thought ahead with AT&T TV (based on the videos of the service) by using D*'s channel #'s when both services have a channel (like ESPN) so as deals are reached it will be easy for them to fill in missing gaps. I think AT&T's strategy is to get channels most people would want first then fill in gaps with smaller or P/I channels later as those viewers are more likely to stay with D* for now.

Their hands are tied as far as NFLST / NFL Network are concerned. D*'s original contract which kept getting extended was apparently ironclad in locking the NFL ST to D*'s satellite service which also includes their rights to carry NFL Network. AT&T's decision not to renew its legacy U-Verse TV contract for NFL Network/NFL RedZone (which was what AT&T TV Now was using for NFL Network) was a money saver and also a wise one in retrospect not to lock U-Verse TV/AT&T TV/AT&T TV Now into another long term contract that outlasted the existing D* contract.

With the NFL gearing up in 2020/21 to re-negotiate all of its TV contracts AT&T will now have all its platforms available to negotiate with the NFL.

AT&T could offer the NFL to have NFL ST on D* and AT&T TV, NFL RedZone on U-Verse TV & AT&T TV Now and have all 4 platforms carry NFL Network all under the same contract. If AT&T can get the NFL ST streaming exclusivity to AT&T TV in order to grow the platform in addition to NFL ST on D* I wouldn't be surprised to see AT&T paying more than the $1.5 billion/year it pays now just for D* exclusivity.

Been wanting it for years, but why the CSPAN channels and both Fox Sports Ohio feeds remain in SD continues to boggle my mind. At some point, that has to change, right? Especially when every other RSN has been full-time HD for the past 10 years or more.

U-Verse TV/AT&T TV/AT&T TV Now has the more cable like feeds / cable feeds and Directv has the MAIN feeds + part time feeds of some that are 24/7 (CSN CHI + has all live stuff) + sub feeds.

I know DIRECTV/AT&T has an agreement to have The Marquee Network. But I am wondering how it is going to be distributed. Is it going to be included on Sportspack nationwide or will it be available only in the Chicago Cubs Viewing Territory and Cub games air nationwide for people who are MLB Extra Innings Subscribers? It’s only 2½ weeks until this channel is supposed to launch on February 22, 2020.

likely the same as any other sports channel and likely in basic for any one in the cubs zone.

Now what did they give up to not get stuck on channel 666?

If the Patriots ever got their own RSN it could also go on 666.

I subscribe to a Google calendar for the Cubs schedule. It's showing games on Marquee on channel 664.
