I didn't think So Yummy would launch as a normal satellite channel. I thought it would be internet only like Cheddar. What does it actually show 24/7?

So, Directv puts on the "Yummy" channel, but we cannot get any of the diginets like MeTv? Yummy probably paid to be put on.

Not only SD, but it has nearly as much judder as old style modem-based internet video.

    I'd call it "So Yucky!"

    You are correct.

I would also go so far as to write, “If there is a programmer with an available HD, one which is already carried in SD, it should have been added by now in that format by AT&T’s DirecTV.”

I set aside public-interest programming, because of any applicable reasons, and refer to the rest of the lineup.

It is strange TVG has been upgraded to being carried in HD before that would happen with Sportsman Channel.

It is also interesting—this period we are in. Many of the topics, and points made by forum members within, have to do with the trajectory of moving away from traditional linear to streaming television. So, this thread has been rather lifeless, in recent times, until TVG was upgraded to HD. That gave this thread some spark. It has been a while.

It would also be interesting if more upgrades come our way. Baby First TV HD. BET Her HD. Discovery Life HD. Logo HD. Nicktoons HD. Sportsman Channel HD. TeenNick HD. UP HD. Other screens of home-shopping networks in HD. If there are any applicable programming in regional sports in HD. Anything also notable in premium-movie programming in HD. (Admittedly, I have to phrase some of this carefully because I haven’t been paying much attention lately.)

unfortunately it’s an internet only channel with no dvr controls. My guess would be no Dolby audio either but I haven’t had time to confirm.

I was at my friend's house who has DirecTV Premier and I can confirm 235 Tastemade is an internet only channel just like Cheddar & i24 News.

563 SoYummy is also available now but it is a satellite delivered channel in SD only. <-- I think that is an interesting move as SoYummy easily could have been an internet-delivered HD channel.

Whats up with all these internet delivered channels? It’s not like D* doesn’t have the bandwidth to add them on the satellites.

Could the internet delivered channels be the type where the provider pays DIRECTV to carry them. And therefore DIRECTV charges less for internet delivery than for satellite?

    I was wondering that myself

Victory channel also premiered today? It looks like its a religious channel, but it's mixed with the shopping channels

kyl416 (over at Edge Cutters) believes Victory is likely a "pay-to-play" channel since it got the secondary slot in the infomercial range (ch 86) that formally belonged to the infomercial channel it replaced. In all honestly I believe that since Victory's other channel (314) is beside Jewelry Television (313) and QVC2 (315). Most of the other religious channels are located in the neighborhood of 363 - 380.

KyL416 used to be a regular here but disappeared pretty quickly maybe a year ago. It appeared he didn't appreciate when a few people questioned/disagreed with him on some points but surprised he's never come back here. Usually had a lot of inside info.
