I was going to have Siri call me "Sexy" as a joke, but I chickened out and Siri calls me "Alan". Boring, I know...

    Mine is labelled "FAVORITES".

Indeed it would! I bet Mr. White and top management know those figures well and get updated weekly or so. As well as new signups for SD vs. HD.

My favorites list is labeled Family HD.
I had one labeled Olympics for just those channels and I normally have one just for MLB during the season.

A Leichtman Research Group study a few months ago showed 52% of pay tv customers have DVRs. I'd guess that those pay tv customers who also have HD would up that to better than 2-1 have a DVR.

And I am one of them. I'd have it, if there was no fee. I'd like a Directivo and still may get one.

I know what you mean, I am cheap too. Now that I have a dvr, I am in the "what did I do without it" group.

My wife and I are the same way. It's getting so we hate to stay in hotels because we can't pause the programing. I look forward to the day when DVRs are a lot more common away from home.

Every once in a while when I am driving I reach to the radio thinking I can back it up a couple of seconds!

I tried to reach for the remote in a movie theater this weekend. Missed a line.

Hah! I do the same thing. Between trying to pause/rewind life and wondering about things in terms of Google query syntax.....

I agree. Hoping that the SportsTime Ohio(Full time HD)/ FSNOhio merger will lead to something good. It really p*sses me off that I am stuck watching the Cavs when the Blue Jackets are on in the rest of the state. My neighbor gets FSNOhio & FSNCinci (U-Verse), so he`s not locked out.

Granted, both teams stink, but an option would be nice.

Exactly. One might as well go back to the pre-VCR days of the early 1980s, because without a DVR, television is almost too much hassle to keep up with. Life is busy, and it's simply too easy to get interrupted while watching something.

If I'm interested in a show, I'm going to watch the show. I bristle at the fee, but the utility is truly undeniable.

Yeah, a television in a hotel room is almost completely useless. Maybe catch the local forecast but otherwise, not much. I want my recordings!

If people just put a monetary value on their time, they would see the DVR cost is nothing. Just the ability to watch a show when I want to and in a shorter amount of time than it takes to watch it "live" saves the price in itself.

The problem is that no one sees their own time as having a monetary value.

Considering there is exactly 1 MLB team, 1 NHL team, and 1 NBA team on Fox Sports Ohio it could work just like Fox Sports Detroit and the part-time (at least it's part-time on DIRECTV) Fox Sports Detroit Plus. When there are dueling games just put one on the overflow channel. I know the blackouts are different in Ohio than they are in Michigan (everyone in Michigan gets all 3 pro teams) but they could be applied just like they are now.

Mine only does that if you view by channel. By time, it shows nothing.

And they all do that. They must do a search by channel number or something.
