How about HBO 3D. I gave it up when I switched from Cox to DirecTV.
Once they start selling glasses-free 3D sets then maybe, but with little 3D showing now (ESPN 3D,3net,CINE3D). I'm not so sure
HLN HD (204), Cooking HD (232), H2 HD (271), Encore Action HD (541) & IFC HD (559) are all live!!!
This is very good!
Oh goody Robin Meade in HD LOL.
Edit: Oh wait a minute she's not there oh well
Yup, it's been a great first quarter! Thank you DirecTV.
Yes,we are more HD channels,we are very happy.Who will be next?
In looking at various other remaining channels for HD...and assming they use viewership numbers to assess those things...there really isn't a long list of "eligible" channels left for HD additions.
I know many have their favorites, but honestly...many of those (but not all of them) simply are ancillary channels with nominal view ratings.
It'll be interesting to see just how many more are actually real new HD channel candidates in 2013. So far...a good ramp-up this year.
A very good year.
Yes this is great.
Some interesting notes though on how my equipment handled this...
SD versions stayed in the guide. A casual guide scroller loses nothing (but gains nothing). Entering the channel numbers takes you to the HD Versions. So I entered each number (THANK YOU FORUM - I wouldn't remember the exact numbers any other way!). Then arrow over to add to favs. Then channel UP (takes me to the SD version of the channel). arrow to remove from favs. Done.
Logos intact it seems. Once HD channels were added, banners advertising these channels are now in HD appeared in the guide.
All of these channels were completely removed from the guide. A casual user would have lost these. Manual number entry was required. Then arrow over and add to favs.
No logos for these channels... just large text.
Hide SD Duplicates
Both running a favorites list called "FAVS"
Both on the latest CE
Though 2 had infomercials, HLN looked spectacular and IFCHD looks just like it does when I watch it on Blue Ridge Cable at the in-laws. Encore Action I can't test because I reduced my package to the one right before Encores. If the rest of the Encores go HD along with STYLE and PBS Sprout, I will upgrade to the next level. I just don't pay for the next package when most of the differences are just SD channels.
These are great additions and I will surely make use out of them!
A great day indeed! It may have taken some time, but there are not many more on my must have list.
I wonder why Cooking Channel was left off the post D* had on their FB page announcing the new HD channels?
And that knocks out the top-10 from our last HD poll.
Two-thirds of all votes have now been covered, and no other HD channel appeared on more then 16% of ballots:

FOX Movie Channel HD would be the cherry on the sundae !!!! hows about it???? or is D* awaiting to see how the smoke clears with rebranding of the FOX channels??
Lets see: Military Channel HD,Bloomberg TV HD, Reelz HD, GSN HD, Encore Drama HD, We and Sundance HD, Fuse HD, Centric HD, Hub HD, MTV2 HD, USN HD, Style HD, FMC HD, OWN HD, NASA HD, DMA With non-HD Locals Take your pick and anticipate.
Of all our family series links and standalone recordings, only a few channels left: VH1 Classics, Style, and weTV.
And it's just a few shows combined, and for VH1C it's only because I recently added a few Remastered Behind the Music recordings which I'm not sure if they're even in HD. I have nothing in my personal series manager that's not HD.
At least for this one household, we're pretty much covered.
Is VH-1 Classic available in HD? Also I think the only Encore channel remaining in HD is Drama, right?
It's a good feeling to have patience rewarded. Portlandia in HD is what I'm most looking forward to.
Encore Love, Encore Western, Encore Suspense, Encore Drama, Encore Family
