Nay more than a wee reference to the handle of a poster to whom I replied!
One week from 4/1, is OWN in test?
Pay attention to Sixto's thread, whenever channels go into test mode he'll post it there:
My wife says she can't either ...
You guys think is funny but wait till you get to that age.
What age is that? Everyone's eyesight is different. Some are relatively blind at 20. Some never wear glasses ever an reach a ripe old age.
True but you know what I mean.
Yep, was nothing yet there for OWN during today's daily check.
I'm 74 with glaucoma and I can easily tell the difference between HD and MPEG2 SD stations, but there is a MPEG4 local in the Seattle DMA (KVOS) and it's a bit harder for me to tell with that one.
RabbitEars.Info states KVOS-TV is MPEG-2 from the source via OTA. 704x480i resolution, 4:3 AR. I am not aware of any OTA stations in native MPEG-4 in the US.
Technical info from TSReader: http://www.rabbitears.info/screencaps/bc-van/35862-0_0.htm
EDIT: I see now, D* is carrying it as a MPEG-4 SD feed via SAT on 99°s
Anyone else notice they are now tracking regional sports networks available in HD? There counts for D* look fairly accurate.
D* has been carrying Sportsman Channel's VOD content in HD for a while now (channel 1605 on HD/DVRs & Genie's)
3 new HD in test.
2 you'll get easily. 1 may take a while.
I wonder if this is a first Sixto;
You posted this news to the anticipation thread before your official locked threads for announcing new HD channels in test?
Did it once before, figure would give everyone a chance to guess the 3, to liven this place up a little.
The only gimme for me is the obvious one of OWN.
Military Channel for another one?
Yep, 1 down (OWN HD), 2 to go.
Well OWN HD is certainly got to be one of them, but the other two I can't fathom.
