DIRECTV HD Channel Anticipation (Official Q1-13 Thread)

Please use this thread to discuss your feelings about upcoming national HD channels.

This thread will not be as tightly moderated as the rest of the site, but here's the tradeoff...in exchange for being able to rant a bit more, you can be assured that absolutely no one at DIRECTV will be using this thread for reference.

You can ask for all the new HD you want, but DIRECTV's marketing department knows that the 100-150 contributors to this thread are only a small part of the nearly 20,000,000 total subscribers.

*Please remember that all forum rules are still in effect.
*Please do not "bump" this thread.
*Other threads that do nothing but anticipate HD channels for which there is no information will be closed.
*This is not a DIRECTV vs. Dish thread, there are other threads for that.

If you have any questions as to what belongs in this thread or an individual channel thread please read the latest DIRECTV Programming Forum Rules (Link).

sat can you give us a hint what the new hd channels will be?
I wish I could. Safe to say they are on the various lists that are out there on this board, but whether they are the channels an individual wants varies person to person. Translation: everyone wants a different channel it seems so some come away happier than others. The good news is that more HD is coming and will continue to come after the next round.

In my opinion, there is something for everyone and the quantity will be nice. Most are deemed "basic" networks, as well.

Great news to be getting such a quote from satelliteracer so early in the new year. Looking forward to more HD "soon"!

I think it is time to make my wish known for CSN Philadelphia as well as CSN Houston, maybe the Pac-12 Network on provision that an agreement is reasonable for both D* and the P12N.

I believe SR said awhile back that the new HD channels would arrive quite early. I'm guessing (at least hoping) sometime this month.
With no added info, I'd guess quite early is first couple of weeks.
