What do you mean by cable channels? DirecTV has far more channels than Brighthouse, plus a lot more HD channels.

This is from the DirecTV flier in today's newspaper. The channels they are showing in HD, that we don't currently have are circled. They are:
    GolTV
    msnbc
    HLN
    C-Span
    C-Span-2
    Travel Channel

This is the thrid week in a row that these have been stated here and on the other forum. So, Directv did not change their flyer if it was a mistake...but I am still skeptical, the CSPANS do that....also, TCM was in this this add..did they remove it?

Really: spending HD bandwidth on CSPAN? Don't think so...

While there are several other national HD Channels I would prefer over C-Span, I would gladly take CSpan over adding any Premium Movie Channels(West Coast feeds.

No bigger waste of bandwidth (IMO) than 2 seperate feeds of linear movie Channels with starting times of the exact same material seperated by 3 hours.

Most movie Buffs have a DVR, if not they need to upgrade.:D

I came over from cablevision (CT-NYC) in Jan. Its true I was suprised by the large amount of HD channels that CV had over D*.. and equaly as suprised by the picture quality D has over CV too ! I now know what high def really is , big difference there....

The way I see it is D* will at least compete with cable in the way of adding at least the stuff cable (CV) has allready over D... You gotta figure once they add all the movie channels CV has , they will throw up the the few regular channels lacking (Trav ,AMC ext).. So why worry ... you figure they will have there day in the sun and its looks to be coming soon...

It will be interesting to see how this battle between D* and E* plays out over the next few months. I think eventually both will have the same HD channels, but D* will probably continue to have more sports in HD.

I ecco this list, plus I would like more HBO stations. almost $15 per month for just 2 HD stations is a joke!

I wish AMC were live before tonights premier of Breaking Bad though, but hopefully they will catch the Mad Men premier at least.

I see this rivalry as good business for us customers. DTV had a nice spurt of HD roll outs in 2008, but last year was very minimal. Now that Dish has a new bird in the air, I smell another round of competition and maybe even new birds for each in 2 or 3 years.

I am really crossing my fingers for AMC and WGN soon!

You obviously didn't do any research before you spoke.
Look at this link of HD channels. I am focusing on national channels not PPV or movie channels.

to get to link, stick in your http:// as I can't post url's yet.

    tampabay.brighthouse.com/products_and_pricing/digital_cable/hdtv/channels/default.aspx

Brighthouse has ALOT more HD channels (87 total or more)that Directv does not. Make your own comparison and REPORT BACK, before flapping mouth.

To bad cause I was ready to pull the trigger on multi-room deca and HD24 and H24 receivers.

I dont know that I would say alot if we get what I asked for a few posts up even ...plus 2 other things no access to HD heavy sports packages and have you ever seen Brighthouse HD? all my friends are always amazed at how great my HD channels are on D* (or People with Fios ) vs theirs on Brighthouse

That's Tampa...you said Orlando before. Which is it? I took my information directly from their website. 31 national HD channels in Orlando.
