See if anybody can dig up anything about fearnet, from all I can find, it's an ondemand type thing, if that's the case, why would that be in a "list of channels" coming up? I would really love to have a dedicated channel ala chiller in hd, but I don't see it happening :(

WOW I didn't think it would actually be possible for D* for add 13 new HD channels and not a one that I would even tune into for a minute. I really hope this isn't the first wave of additions. :(

It's the exact same list of 11 from June 2009, but with the addition of Africa and BBCA.

It's the list some CSR's have been quoting as coming "soon" since at least June 2009.

    I'd watch these...

And depending on your definition of "soon", they could still be correct! ;)

BBC America HD, FLN HD. Travel Channel HD, and DIY HD, would all be nice.

Sounds like a good start! Really looking forward to MSNBC HD and BBC America HD. Will definitely check out The Africa Channel, any info about that? Sounds like a NatGeo channel.

Is it a full time HD Channel? or part-time?...if part-time, guess it's going full time like FSN South or Sportsouth HD

But is it a full time RSN? Looking at the guide it looks like FSFL is full time SD with the part time -1 HD channel, this probably means it would go full time HD.

All five RSN's have been on the short list for quite some time. The three FSN RSN's were actually on the original D11 list. Soon. :)

According to Swanni, DirecTV is going to use their new satellite most likely just for 3-D and more PPV. Hopefully thats not the case. I think out of most channels I would like to see Travel Channel HD. ESPNU HD would be nice as well. If DirecTV is devoting their new satellite for a lot of 3-D stuff then that just makes zero sense considering nobody has a 3-D HDTV yet. They should worry about what their customers want right now and forget about 3-D until there is actually a market for it. The 3-D channels right now would be a waste of satellite space. Unbelievable!

Don't believe much, if anything, that Swanni says about DirecTV. IIRC his father had some issues with DirecTV and ever since then Swanni has had it in for them. A DirecTV staff member that visits this site has said that 95% of the folks here will be happy with the HD channels that would be added. Since nobody here has been saying they want more HD PPV channels I don't think we'll be seeing a bunch of those being added;)

Take that with a grain of salt, but if we go by press releases, D* should add quite a few channels..right? ESPNU HD, Hallmark HD, and some premiums..may be missing others, but a trusted source on here said we would be "happy"..so I believe that!

Now that NFL Sunday Ticket is done, doesn't that free up some current space without waiting for D12 to fire up?

Yes that does, but what happens if D12 has a problem and doesn't make it to operational status, they then don't have capacity for NFL-ST for this fall or they have to drop the channels they added.
