It wasn't a 'clone' site, it was the Wikipedia mobile site, as I was doing the post from my iPhone. I wasn't arguing the point of the network name change, i was just pointing out that the source I had my information based on (the same URL, minus the "m") shows the channel as currently having a 1080i counterpart. As I said earlier, I could be mistaken, but that's where I got the information.

my mistake, I hate Wikiclone sites.

I can't find a source that says theres such thing as FLN HD. It also said its in 576i, like they use in the UK. I fixed it to 480i. Goes to show theres hundreds of errors on Wiki.

I'm willing to guess the page was created using another channel's page as a template, adding to the confusion...

Here's hoping we get some of these new channels soon.

    Need:
    G4 HD
    BBC America HD
DirecTV 3D HD (I'm one of the lucky few who already own a 3D set.)

    Want:
    AMC HD
    TMC HD
    Travel HD
    ESPNU HD
    HLN HD
    Shorts HD

We already have TMC (The Movie Channel) HD, its channel 544. Although the West coast feed of it in HD would be nice. I'm guessing you meant TCM (Turner Classic Movies) HD though.

D* should dispose the mpeg2 HD channels, I'm sure that'll enable 15 or so mpeg4 HD channels without using any additional bandwidth.

    Travel Channel HD
    All premium multiplex channels
Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia (after the FCC closes the loophole)
    MSG games
    Telemundo and Univision HD
    ESPNU HD
    Investigation Discovery

And all other national HD that isn't currently carried as stated by others.

The MPEG2 channels are being phased out already.

There's only 6 channels left that I can think of. Also they will not add more national HD channels to the 119 unless they happen to be mas programming only. Too many SL3's have been installed and would need to be swapped out.

You can still use your HR10-250, you won't get any HD via satellite after they shut it down. It will still get OTA HD. The handwriting has been on the wall when they launched D10 and the new HD was in mpeg4 format using Ka which the HDTivos can't pick up.

I knew that already. Anyway, while D* has removed SHOH, UHD and HDNM, they've left my DirecTiVo with HBOH, ES2H, ESPH, TNTH, HDTH and HDN.

Of those, my wife finds TNTH the most useful, in spite of TNT's tendency to stretch their movies. (The DirecTiVo is really my wife's machine; I use the HR21. She is not eager to learn the HR21's menu system, especially after seeing -- and hearing -- how I have to wrestle with the HR21's scores of inadequacies.)

    Teays...
And that same Marketing Department on June 13, 2007 issues this press release: http://investor.directv.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=286351

I am still waiting for those 11 HBO channels in HD. :(

So we can poke fun at Hutchinshouse for wanting Travel Channel in HD, but at least D* didn't issue a PR saying we would have it almost 2.5 years ago. Can you imagine how apes**t he/she would be if there was a PR saying it was coming and it didn't. ;)

Last spring, I called the office of the president about this press release and the guy denied the existence of that document and claimed the channels are "unavailable". I finally got him to admit the press release was premature. Hopefully D12 will have all the missing HBO's and Max's. Better late than never I guess.

It probably should be noted that when D* said that ESPNU would launch by the end of third quarter D12 was scheduled to launch 2-3 before it actually did so I'm not sure that time line still applies.

On the upside, there really was no announcement about that 3-D channel until D12 launched so if that's scheduled for March...

To be slightly fair to D*, the announced HBOs/Cinemaxes weren't actually available in HD until D10 was filled, some nine months after the scheduled launch date. I doubt we will ever get the full story as to why D* announced more national HD for D10 than was put on D10/11 combined. (BTW, my "national channels" do not include nationally available RSNs.)
