 I'm sure you'll be missed.
couldnt agree more digitalfreak
The Ceton InfiniTV 4 card? If so, then good thing you're saving $20/month to offset paying $400 for the card.
I basically did the same thing. I returned two DVRs and a receiver, and bought a Tivo Premier and subscribed to Xfinity for $39 a month for a year. I kept DIrecTv as well, since I need more than two tuners. It works out good because the one feature missing on DirecTv DVRs that I really miss, are autorecord suggestions. I cant believe how many shows I watch on the Premier that it recorded from my thumbs ratings. I also get all those missing HD channels DirecTv wont carry, and good quality SD channels. DirecTv has The 101, and some other channels I watch alot of, so I use the HR24 to record my main recurring recordings. It also has Hotpass and Im a big Nascar fan. Best of both worlds. I saved $18 returning the extra D* stuff, and another $15 discount from Xfinity on my Internet service, so its costing me about $10 more a month for Choice Extra and Xfinity Preferred HD Digital over what I was paying for DirecTv Ulimate (Xfinity has the Encores and all the HD Extra Pack channels except HDNet Movies and Sony Movie Channel in my market, so thats another $5.99 a month Im saving.
I dont believe I would like dropping DirecTv for Cable, but cable is a viable addition, at least at their promo rates, and hopefully DirecTv will have the channels I want in a year.
Forgot about him. Only person I have in my blacklist
Finally...some good news!
I anticipate two new HD RSNs in 2012 And one will be in Spanish, the first ever all Spanish RSN..
As opposed to paying $199 per D* HDDVR and then not even owning it?
Aw. You're breaking my
The most I've paid for any of my DVR's is $99. Good customers who don't call and whine get rewarded.
Very true. A dying breed however.
Not completely true. My last HR24-500 was zero dollars. My last dish was zero dollars.
Honesty gets rewarded too. On that note, still waiting for basic HD........
I always hated this practice of playing favorites. I see no way of justifying why one person should pay less for a lease of the same equipment than another. In my opinion it just further shows the scam that is leases and contracts.
If you want to be pissy and question my honesty, knock yourself out. My HR20-700 and AT-9 dish were free in October 2006. My R22-200 was free in May 2008. My HR24-500 was free last year, along with an H24-100. In between I got an HR22-100 for $99 in December 2008. Along the way, I'veI spent a crap load of money on NFLST every year since 1997, premium channels just about every year and the occasional PPV. I also don't call up and whine and moan and demand credits routinely.
Again, good customers are rewarded in ways other than getting a niche channel in HD.
Yeah, you know that companies should never reward good customers. That is just a scam.
They are temporary and game-only but do the rugby channels count as basic HD?
I'm not "pissy", nor do I know (or care) if you're honest. I'm sure you are...
Anyhow, just pointing out that DIRECTV does NOT play favorites.
FYI - I've never called and asked for free stuff. Ever.
I'd say no. When I say "basic HD" I mean full-time channels like BBCA or AMC etc...
I told you!
If a company is willing to offer a product for $100 less for some customers then the ones who don't receive the offer have been scammed.
I've never not paid my bill, the only time I've ever contacted Directv was to activate a new receiver. I'd rather just pick up a new receiver from Costco yet that makes me a bad customer because I didn't go trolling for discounts and waste Directvs time? There are lots of "good customers" who have no clue that they can even ask for some sort of deal and Directv willingly takes more money from them than is necessary. I call that a scam.
The force is strong.
