Let's keep on topic, follow the rules and have a civilized conversation. Do not discuss or insult each other.

Well, the obvious needed to be stated. It's seems to get lost in the shuffle from time to time. :D

A statement of some kind (good or bad) from D* would solve the Mystery

    Back on topic....

Come on Directv, give us something that we've been anticipating! I'll take Turner Classic Movies, thank you very much!

What kind of statement would you want to see? They aren't going to discuss deals currently being worked on. We won't see any announcements until they are absolutely sure that things are a go for launch. We'll hear about it from Satelliteracer before an official announcement is put out. Other than that, we have the comments made on the Q4 conference call this morning.

I've read a number of non-off-hand explanations that do not hint at a substantial unwillingness on the part of providers. In theory, every provider wants DirecTV to carry them [mo' money]—'ceptin' maybe Comcast— and so it becomes a matter of coming to agreement over how much DirecTV is willing to pay, and how little the provider is willing to accept.

Maybe he wants a Directv guy to say, "We're trying to make deals." I'm 99.9% sure you won't see them say, "We done adding. Love us or leave us."

Waiting on new HD channels with DirecTV is like being in a living version of the movie Groundhog Day. We all fall victim to it day in day out.

I expect that will be out later today or tomorrow.

We have a few bogs from members who were able to listen in.

I'd don't even like b-ball madness. I'm a basic HD kind of guy. Having more BASIC HD, better quality HD and SD is all I need. :D

Dude, you were all about March Madness a few days ago.:p I'm not sure you're aware, but FiOS isn't really that ahead in basic HD. Neither Directv or your Holy Grail has BBCA, DIY, Cooking, E!, G4, History International, HLN, Style, TruTV, or TCM...Just to name a few. They're PQ is nice, though.

Actually, I have Fios for phone and internet and took the TV portion to get neighboring locals not on DirecTV in HD (ground floor condo, so antenna is not a real option).

While the lineups are different, as far as national HD goes, fios is missing a bit as well. I have my favorites set up on Fios to basically have the locals and missing national HD from DirecTV. Since I turn HBO on and off to get free months, I have a group of them. For the non-premium national HD, the pickings are pretty lean that are on Fios and not on DirecTV. IFC, AMC, Wealth, one of the women's HD channels (I always get the Lifetimey things mixed up) and ESPN Buzzer Beater. Meanwhile, DirecTV has Cartoon in HD while Fios does not and a few others. If you like out of market sports, that means DirecTV blows Fios away.

The idea of Fios as the perfect provider is complete nonsense. They also have bandwidth issues and are more tied up than DirecTV in that way as they are completely full until they start IPTV, which may or may not happen this year.
