E!-HD today (this month), BBC-A HD tomorrow (next month)?
Looking back at the 2011 DBSTalk DirecTV HD Channel Poll:
E! HD was 7th (Testing)
TruTV HD was 8th (Added)
Speaking of that poll we haven't had one (yet) this year and its already April...
The next wave of HD channels is scheduled for 12/21/2012 according the Mayan calender.:hurah:
Back then we thought we had another 20 channels worth of bandwidth in reserve. . .later we learned about "push" (queue Darth Vader music. . . )
What Channel Number is E!?
I'll triple that.
+1. Appreciate that D* is adding general-purpose HD, but this will have no interest in my house.
Prefer BBCA HD, TCM HD and DIY HD (in no particular order)...
I haven't watched the E channel in several years.
This is thin gruel indeed, DirecTV!
Will be switching back to Dish once my contract is over.
Ditto. E! sure wasn't on any of my choice lists. :nono2:
But I guess it is better than a kick in the teeth!
Now impatiently still waiting for BBCA-HD!
Nothing we watch either, but happy for the E fans. After all, the last one TruTV was on my list. Still anxiously waiting for ID and DIY.
Never, ever, EVER sign up with DirecTV assuming something is coming....especially when DirecTV has to pay extra for it, as it does in the case of BBCa and TCM HD. I'm predicting right now that it will be months, if not years, before these two ever see the light of day on Direct, perhaps not until the SD feeds are discontinued.
Those of us wanting TCM and BBCHD might as well switch now. No kidding.
Wow we get new HD and people complain. I guess you can't please everyone.
But I'm happy, even though its only for one show.
I'm glad we are getting E! HD. It's one of the last few channels that we watch in SD. Bring on The (HD) Soup!
E! is not a channel I watch every day, but it's still good to have new HD channels being added to the lineup. It may not be your channel today, but it's somebody's...
E! ratings are greater than BBC & TCM. Complain all you want, but this addition makes more sense than BBC or TCM.
Right. I think BBC in particular as a wanted channel is skewed here. We have a large number of what would be called geeks (myself included), and BBC has shows that appeal to us. Same could be said for people that like movies that air on TCM or even H2.
