Well getting this quarter started for my wishes.
You are missing a bunch of RSN channels on that list..
CSN Philly, CSN out of Portland, the new Lakers channels (one English, one Spanish), the new Huston channel as well.
Cox Sports Television, CSS, CSS Huston (becoming CSN Houston or over flow feed?).
the mtn (full time HD date not known)
CSN Houston and the Lakers Channels wouldn't need to be anticipated until late Q3. The same can be said for the Pac-12 Networks which are slated to launch in August. So unless there is a package deal for CSN Philly and rights to CSN Blazer games, things may be a little slow on the RSN front.
On another subject, I wonder if WGN America would be 86ed if D* doesn't renew (Which may lead to another HD slot opening). From what I understood, and correct me if I'm wrong, WGN is not much more than CW on cable sans the White Sox and Cubs.
You're wrong. WGN America doesn't air CW shows, only WGN-TV Chicago does. WGN America replaces them with old reruns.

I'm curious as to how you came by your ranking system?!
BTW... you left out CW HD-DNS.
I know.... that was brought up last quarter. I added some, but had questions regarding some, and things came up in my life, and I simply didn't get around to adding them. If someone could make it easy for me and make a list of the RSNs in these categories:
RSNs that DirecTV does not carry at all
RSNs that DirecTV carries in SD only
RSNs that DirecTV carries part-time
RSNs launching in HD soon that DirecTV carries in SD
RSNs launching in HD soon that DirecTV does not carry at all.
With Regards to Comcast Sports Northwest ( CSN-NW )
DirecTV does not carry it - Greedy Comcast is the reason
It is currently available in HD.
It is a a full time HD channel.
Main Teams - Portland TrailBlazers (NBA), Oregon Ducks (NCAA)
Is Sundance in HD?
They were showing videos.
Still BBCA HD, DIY HD, H2 HD, TCM HD.
According to wikipedia, MTV-U is mostly closed circuit to college campuses and does not broadcast in HD. It is 480i widescreen.
It shows videos, news, campus-oriented features including panel shows discussing videos.
This edition of Sesame Street is brought to you by the DirecTV word ...... SOON !!
I'd take any of those 10 this year, then the others when D14 is operational. I wonder if there is currently enough bandwidth to add 10 measly HD channels.
May 26th on EPIX: Carl Froch vs Lucian Bute. One of the biggest non-PPV fights of the year and Directv won't have it.
same thing with comcast and other big cable systems.
I didn't think to mention the CW item. (Sorry. :eek2 Then again, I couldn't think of everything. (I'm now recalling not listing the new regional for Los Angeles Lakers. I read there will be two, not just one, channels.) CW's distant network would be in my list for other programming that are "Notable" just as a national feed is for Ion.
As for ranking: those in the Top 10, in the Top 20, and so on, are presented in order of their channel placement. Basically, they are tiered listings. Say, "if we were to get up to 10"; "if were to get up to 20"; "if we were to get up to 25"; etc. I'm basing them on priority. This group. Followed by that group. And then…. (Last couple years DirecTV so focused on premium-movie multiscreens that the ones from Encore are placed, by me, on low priority. Only thing below them are Jewelry Television HD and numerous religious programmers's HD.)
About that Top 10: all of them except Viacom's TV Land HD should have been carried by DirecTV as far back as, say, 2009. TV Land, now that AMC and truTV are carried in HD, gets a spot in the Top 10, because of original programming (you can actually see some clips in HD at its site) and what else it shows that can be seen in HD. (Like reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond which ran on CBS from 1996 to 2005.) The rest of the Top 10: Discovery's BBC America HD; Turner's Turner Classic Movies HD and Headline News HD; A&E Networks's Lifetime Movie Network HD and H2 HD; Comcast's E! Entertainment Television HD and Style Network HD; Scripps' DIY Network HD and Cooking Channel HD. We're finding them routinely on other systems to the point it's downright inexcusable and embarrassing they're not available in high def on DirecTV.
The challenge, in that exercise, was whether some in the Top 20 should be brought down a notch, and any in the Top 25 should move up between Nos. 11 and 20 on priority. But I'm more certain with the Top 10. (Though I'm sure some would say, understandably, that a switch with one item should be made with another. )
