Which channels are you talking about and how'd you reach this conclusion?

TCM, TCM2, H2 and Military History being on test channels. If they are, why don't they it show up on the transponder maps? Even SatRacer says that photographic evidence should be shown.

We were told E! was being launched on a particular date from a poster that we don't know all that well for info, didn't take long for Sixto to find it. As far as I know, these channels haven't been found.

I realized context was missing, I hadn't realized the topic had changed over the past few pages.

To me, that's an end-run around the intent of the law for an affiliate of a different network to be broadcasting CW original HD content as OTA SD on a sub-channel, but no doubt some smart lawyers found a loophole.

Sixto "found" E! HD on April 10, way before the mysterious DBSSTEPHEN (allegedly) did on the 14th.

But Saucony first said it was coming, then Sixto found it. His date was wrong it seems, but no one will complain about it actually being earlier.

The law only says that it has to be broadcast digitally. There is no law that it has to be HD. Digital 480i is within the law.

Part time affiliates are common in small markets. At least with digital broadcasting, a single station can broadcast all of two network's programming, even if one of them is in SD. Prior to the digital era, some stations would pick and choose which programs to broadcast if there was not a full time affiliate for all of the networks in that DMA. Prior to 1961, most markets did not have a full time ABC affiliate. The NBC or CBS affiliates would often show some of the best ABC programs at the expense of the NBC or CBS offering in that time slot.

I'm not sure I understand... this is quite common.

The CW affiliate (offered in via DirecTV) and MyNetworkTV (not offered via DirecTV) affiliate are sub-channels on my semi-local CBS.

The ABC affiliate is on a sub-channel of my local NBC... they offer an HD feed to satcos and cablecos (DISH and Mediacom carries it in HD, DirecTV only in SD).

My neighboring market Columbus, GA has their local CW affiliate on a sub-channel as well.

I wasn't referring to part time affiliates... they are full time CW Plus affiliates.

Maybe I'll have to look at the digital transition law again (it's been almost two years since I last did), but I thought I remembered provisions against down-rezzing OTA from HD to SD. Sure, there's plenty of SD-original content that has to keep on keeping-on, but that's not what we're talking about here. This is HD original content broadcast OTA as SD.

Kim is not photoshopped (improved) in the TV show like she is in photo shoots.

I started to post the same dang thing last night... :)

I actually really enjoyed Rob on "Dancing With The Stars" last year... I didn't expect that given how little I care about the rest of his family. That being said, if you ever see me watching a Kardashian show... you'll know that I have been taken over by a pod creature.

That'd be the same actual time, and the time they normally launch new channels. Very nice!

I wish D* would officially confirm the actual date. Sixto said tomorrow, the apps say Thursday, SR said Friday, and Saucony said the 25th. Which is it??????

Satelliteracer said "end of the week"... I'm the one that inferred Friday from that given that we had a recent launch on a Friday...

End of the week usually means Friday unless you're in college. :p

It depends on how you're referring to it.

Technically, the end of the week is Saturday, but many people will say Friday since it's the end of the work week. However, Thursday is the second half of the week, so it's still a possibility. I don't think tomorrow is much of a possibility anymore.

Either way, it looks to be coming this week. :p

I never actually said 4/18. I said its usually a wednesday and last Wednesday past. I go with whatever SR hinted at.
