I am not sure how much I will watch E! other than "Chelsea Lately". Irreverent and often times off-color humor, but for me one of the funniest "interview" shows.

Haven't watched E! since the mid-90s. Just scrolled through the guide, looks very uninteresting. But happy for those that do watch it, more HD is always a good thing. Hopefully one of these days every channel will be in HD.

Looking forward to: TMC, IFC, Epix, NGW, H2, Hub, and a few others.

E! was much better back in the day. However I just saw part of "The Soup" and I think its HILARIOUS! I never would of watched it before because it was in SD. This is a great show and thanks to E being in HD now I will watch this one!

One thing I noticed is these channels sure do decay after awhile. They call it Network Decay. IE) MTV no longer focus on music, History no longer on History, A&E no longer "Arts" & Entertainment, etc...

By the time DirecTV adds some of these other channels in HD, they will be decayed to the point of no longer having the original programming. Maybe when DIY is added in HD, it will resort to a bunch of house hunters and reality shows. Gosh I hope not... but it seems that's the way these things are going lately. By the time H2 is added in HD, its going to be all Ice Road Truckers and Pawn Stars I bet. We'll see!

Heck the one time I saw the Weather Channel playing the movie "Twister". I guess that's sort of appropriate... but movies??? come on.

See, having a channel in HD does make more people watch it. ;)

Seems like HGTV has turned into House Hunters TV, thats all that seems to be on there nowadays.

    They have stopped airing movies...

Considering that's about the only program I find entertaining on there, I don't really have a problem with that! :)

I never really watched E! before. But my wife did, so she is happy that it is in HD. :)

I liken the DirecTV roll out of basic HD to the experience of a teenage boy taking a date to the movie theater. The goal in both cases is to advance along the base paths. While there can be droughts along the way, every hit is cherished even if it is not a home run.

The big difference between the two is that the teenage boy is only dealing with 4 bases while D* customers are dealing with over twenty and each of those bases is separated by 1,000 miles, a mountain range and a Mongol Horde...

Quite a well worked out analogy, with one quibble: Base 4—or even 3— in a movie theatre??? :D:nono2:

Heh. In CA we have laws regarding activities that take your attention away from the road during car rides home! I suppose one could be hands free....:D

You've apparently never been to a South Georgia movie theater!

Our local movie theater had problems years back with that sort of thing... particularly in the restrooms. I think they've cracked down on that since then, but...

I'll personally never forget watching "Double Jeopardy" in the old theater and this guy came in wearing a trench coat... he was disturbing. :eek2:

Reminds me of a sight my cousin and I saw while taking a shopping trip! :eek2:
