    Yea ...

Only three available in HD out of the entire eight channel Encore multiplex.

    Encore-East main feed.

And two of the theme channels:

    Encore Action
    Encore Drama

That's got to be it. Remember, he said one full-time channel and one part-time channel to start. Trutv was the full-time channel.

MLB Strikezone is part-time, so was San Diego (which is what was pre-announced).

Satelliteracer has stated that the remaining Encore channels will go HD this year... though things could very well have been pushed back.

BTW, I don't think it's the Encore channels.

Last year I upset a few people here when I spoke out against DirecTV inundating us with multiscreens of HBO and Cinemax during May and July without also delivering on basic-cable channels in high def. This was before the Sept. 9 addition of AMC HD. This was certainly before the March 7, 2012 addition, regularly, of truTV HD.

I will reiterate my position, which I believe I stated here before, just after signing on as a DBSTalk member in 2010: I want every national cable channel which has a high definition feed to be carried in HD. Ultimately that will happen, I believe, with all providers, because that's the No. 1 change in how we view television; but, of course, it takes a few years. (I am guessing it will happen at a point during the second half of this decade.)

In the meantime, there are too many missing basic-cable channels DirecTV is needing to add in HD. I prefer they come in before more focus is given to premium-movie channels. (No disrespect intended.)

I have seen Fuse HD at a local Comcast. Just last year, in fact. What I viewed was studio programming, which looked really good. Fuse is owned by AMC Networks, and Comcast carries Fuse, AMC, and its other programming in HD. I didn't get a good opportunity to check out IFC HD, but We TV HD, which was airing a cooking programming (and, in another visit, a program with Joan Rivers), looked really good as well.
