Look in the sky! It's the bat signal.
The question is not whether people want more HD. I am sure until 100% of the channels are offered in HD, people will want more.
That said, I want TCM and BBCA in HD. However, not enough to drop things I have D* for.
You are correct, dropping D* is not an option, I am waiting for BBCA HD and will continue to wait, though I hope we see it by 2012.
And I am sure that Chicago Blue is equally "sooooooo freaking sorry" for voicing his opinion that you don't like.
My number one want as well.
Sometimes it seems like it's a pissing contest.
i just subscribed to this thread 4 days ago hoping to get some insight when new HD channels are coming.
It's currently a waste of my time reading. Let me know when this thread gets back on track.
I'm just saying
You have all of my top six in your list, what a coincidnce. My top 6 are:
As I always say, I would like all channels in HD. Just in case I happen to channel surf and find something I want to watch and to give me more variety. There are very few SD channels that I watch, HLN is one of the exceptions. I can turn it on and in 15 minutes can catch up on whats happening that day. And its tough to watch that channel in SD, especially the SD quality we get with DIRECTV.
Yeah, good luck.
I'll sum up this thread for you:
Poster A: I really want channel ---- in HD. :crying:
Poster B: DIRECTV will add that channel when it's a financially sound business decision.
Poster A = whineboy
Poster B = fanboy
Hutchinshouse = whineboy exrtaordinaire
Have a good weekend all
Your arguments for excusing DirecTV's big failure to add the large number of missing basic HD channels are arguments which would make more sense prior to the launch of D12.... NFL Sunday Ticket, most of the RSN's, lots of PPV's--- were all taken care of by D10 and D11.... Nothing to do with D12....
The giant frustration here is that after we all followed D12 from set-up to launch to sign-on (during a + 2 year period ) no one expected to hear that there is now a "Bandwidth" problem causing the coma at DirecTV for adding new basic HD....
If DirecTV has now decided that D12 will be used mostly for even more PPV's and PUSH VOD (and not basic HD) how can all the frustrated posters' comments here be characterized as "whining" ?... If anything, the posters here have been overly generous in not characterizing DirecTV's new business strategy as duplicitious--- given how DirecTV's representatives on these boards told us (prior to D12) how D12 would be used....statements which not once hinted at half the bird being used as it is today...
The posters here are now calling out DirecTV publicly for saying one thing and doing another. I do not believe that meets the definition of "whining"...
Refreshing to hear from a non whiner.
Your going to have a long wait.

I've enjoyed reading the anticipation threads over the last year, they are quite entertaining sometimes.
I am curious though about some of SR's statements. For the longest time, the answer regarding new HD was that it "takes 2 to tango", nothing about bandwidth. Lately, it sounds like there's a bandwidth issue perhaps.
The highlights are posted here.
I just want something new to argue about. All this arguing about nothing became old some time ago. However if we get something new then everyone can then talk about the fact that everyone thinks that something is not enough for some but great for a few.
But arguments about channels that get added move to a channel specific thread. And the same old arguments stay here. See WGN, ESPNU, Travel, Shorts for examples.
