^ Thanks. Steal it for a desktop background. It's cropped to exactly 4:3.

Yes, let's turn this into a OAR discussion. ;)

    Here's a 2400x1600 dpi version.

    Awesome sight.

Wait. You live in La Crosse? Don't tell us how many MLB teams you get or we may get a visit from someone angry. :)

bjlc and I have talked. It's even worse than you think. I live across the river on the Minnesota side. Because of MLB's rules, I get both the Brewers and the Twins, exactly what he doesn't receive. I'm surprised he doesn't hate me. :D

Carl ... stop sending your water down river .... :)

Living in Davenport, IA I have a great baseball package .... Twins, Brewers, Royals, Cardinals, Cubs and White Sox all without the baseball package.

Nice one. Thanks for the episode of Sunrise Spock.

Side note, a few days ago I watched a few clips of Sunrise Earth via YouTube and my Apple TV. I was very impressed with the HD video quality.

Just to keep things on track :D, I’ll take AMCHD, BBCAHD, DIYHD, Nat Geo Wild HD and a side of fries.

Yeah, it is getting a bit sad. I have HBO, and appreciate the adds there, (Several years after DirecTV promised to carry all SD feeds in HD. That still hasn't happened yet.) but come on, DirecTV cannot be that inept at bargaining with basic cable networks.

And before a certain someone chimes in: Over all, I'm happy with DirecTV, but this is a discussion forum, and a place to voice our opinions and concerns about their shortcomings, as well as our approval.

Yet just about every other provider has been able to negotiate and get these channels on their systems. (Again, I like DirecTV, but I don't think they're practically perfect in every way. I don't feel it's out of line to express my opinions on a discussion forum.)

AMCHD for example. On the AVS forum site, DIRECTV is the only major company without this channel. We all know the game has changed. However, the others clearly played the game to get the channel. Now, does this mean DIRECTV is incompetent? Hell no. I just feel it’s not high on their to-do list. I think it’s as simple as that.

Wrong on 2 parts. First, CableOne doesn't have it. Second, SR indicated AMCHD is in the plans (to-do list) due to it's absence from the survey. This isn't an excuse, just pointing out some facts.

I anticipate we're inside of 3 weeks from more HD channels, per SR's forecast. ;)

Or directv is trying to nail it all down. I cannot stream AMC using my fios account. Maybe just maybe directv is looking more ahead than mom and pop cable or even the biggies. Im sure they are trying to avoid lawsuits as mentioned in the article.

We do have SR telling us AMC is high on the list

Not all of those providers are having to negotiate national carriage deals that include TV Everywhere as well. Not to even mention the other current and pending features and services that DirecTV will utilize that may also need to be part of a carriage deal. Folks tend to oversimplify the issue and ignore the fact that each provider is negotiating based on their own unique circumstances. There are so many variables at play that these comments about how "successful" another provider has been at negotiating a deal compared to DirecTV are downright laughable.

Saying that we want certain channels and wishing that it was not taking as long to reach a deal is one thing. That is perfectly understandable and I think we all want the same thing in that regard. The assumptions about and comparisons to deals reached by other providers are just ridiculous however. It's the sort of thing we would expect from Swanni.

I hope for additional basic HD channels.

I anticipate additional PPV HD channels.

I anticipate additional premium HD channels.

I anticipate additional premium PPV HD channels.

I anticipate complaints about the lack of additional basic HD channels.

I anticipate excuses why DirecTV has not / can not / will not / should not add basic HD channels.
