Funny, so I guess my recording two radio shows daily in HD would really get criticized. :)

Absolutely love that they're in HD.

No, you can love that they are in HD but if the channels in question showed nothing but a guy sitting at a microphone, then the priorities would suggest that that channel not yet be in HD.

I'm betting the two radio shows you record in HD are on a sports channel or two.

Got the same email that GOLTV will be gone as of 9/13. BeIN HD picture quality is garbage

Really? You want to put CSPAN at the top of all your lists? Those dozens of channels you list regularly?

I'm all for CSPAN in HD. But last.

CSPAN-2 is mostly Book TV, that would be good to have in HD.

    We all have our priorities.

Don't blame APB101, Sixto or me, Tony. You are the one who insists we consider priorities. My priorities would be H2 and both C-SPANs.

Frankly, I think to try and throw in priorities into the equation is a fool's errand. It is obviously a very personal and subjective decision. We don't have the information to come up with an overall, all-DirecTV-subscribers priority list. Heck, we don't even have an all DBSTalk priorities list.

To inject priorities into this discussion is to say, explicitly, my channel desires are more important than yours. Screw that.

Instead, I think we should all just post the channels we are anticipating, maybe in order of personal importance but not to be judged against each other. Are my priorities more urgent than another posters? Heck if I know. Let the priorities decisions be made by DirecTV. They have a ton more information on the subject than we do. Beyond basic market studies, I'm sure they have contractual obligations that need to be fulfilled, or the opposite, channels they'd like to add that they contractually can't. Let DirecTV set the priorities.

We should simply anticipate and recommend.

Exactly. The threshold issue is whether you like to watch that channel in the first place, and really, everybody else ought to just back off on that point. To each his own.

I've got a 65" and a 60" TV, and yes, the convention looks noticeably better in HD. PBS helps, but even they do a lot of talking head commentators over top of the convention speakers instead of letting you watch the convention yourself.

To those wanting CSPAN - If you have cable internet, try running cable to your tv if you have a QAM tuner you may get it in the clear in HD if your system has it.

With another Wednesday come and gone, I am assuming that ION E HD is officially not going to happen.

    Bingo.

I only check Francesa for guests (I still miss MadDog), and Boomer & Carton I watch the opening of the show via MRV in HD every night. HD baby.

Priorities do count to directv. Not recognizing reality just sets you up for disappointment. CSPAN in HD before almost anything else is not going to happen.

I was not talking about MY priorities. Reality. Maybe you keep ignoring that I would rather see CSPAN 3 added in SD than the others in HD. Why? Because the content is important but HD is not.

You have turned it personal, not I.

Nah, I wouldn't go that far. As long as it is still in Test, there is still reasonable reason for hope.

Now, if it drops out of Test, and doesn't show up live, then you can start pulling your hair out, if so inclined.

I still also wonder, when Ion is going to be brought into the HD realm. Still trying to convince Directv to add MeTV, or AntennaTV. When I call them, I always mention it and have also submitted the same, on their website. TVLand has become more like a wasteland, so it would be nice to start seeing some of those 60's and 70's programs, that many of the people over 40 still enjoy. Still would like to see some of the Encore channels in HD, as well.

Jeez, thanks, Tony. I get it now.

I should only anticipate those channels which have a high enough priority that they might make it on DirecTV in HD. I shouldn't express myself and want HD channels that aren't likely to air. I might suffer some disappointments in life and I certainly don't want that to happen.

It makes so much sense when you say it that way.

So with ION now apparently fading in the dust..I ask to the lords of the site here 2 questions..since im a newbie that came here on accident in 2008**

-Has there ever been a channel that Sixto found in test and that never came aboard?

-Did D* ever make an official announcement (either print or website tout) about a channel they never added prior to ION? Ive only had D* since 2005 when the Fantasy Football brethren PLEADED me to add it in my bar for the NFL Network..I then added it into my home as well running side by side with Time Warner..

**i discovered this site in 2008 when I did a google search on where to find juiced up xbox360 saves..I've loved being here ever since!!
