OMG so it is coming! SWEET!!! Thanks SR.
Well, it may have only taken Directv 3 years to get BBC America in HD. I wonder if the Pac-12 fans would be as patient if they had to wait 3 years...
This all sounds very good.
Festivus pole at the ready to stand erect. Have we not had enough airing of grievances? I kinda think we have.....
Always nice to see SR come 'round with more enticements and semi-confirmations!
Heh. I see the airing of grievances was occurring as I was typing my post!
Cool; we now have enough.
I wonder if ever 24 hours have passed without complaints?
Any chance we could go the rest of today with a rest on them?
Finally, bbc America had. Too bad there is no new top gear unil next year per Jeremy clarkson!
But there is Doctor Who.
Based on the Twitter comments Thursday from DirecTv's twitter It sounds like Pac12 Networks and DirecTV are close to an agreement. Now if we could get DIY in HD my family would be happy.
In addition to BBCA HD the other two channels that prevent me from going DirecTV are DIY HD and H2 HD. If you ask me those should be considered "basic" HD channels.
Sounds like the new guy from Uverse (can't think of his name right now) is getting deals done. Goodbye Mr. Chang.
I currently have Uverse and am amazed at how many more HD and obscure HD stations AT&T has compared to satellite. DTV has one down and two to go before I even consider a switch.
Not really. Satellite uses their capacity for things like NFL Sunday Ticket..that alone takes over 20 HD channels. It's all in what you are comparing.
Chang is still at D* until end of the year. These were in the plans long ago.
I want H2HD and my wife wants QVCHD. A bunch of people on here want BBCA HD, but for me the only thing I watch on bbc are reruns of Star Trek TNG.
BEST...NEWS...EVER!!! Thanks so much!!!
There are never more than 16 NFL games on in a week. How can that take 20 channels?
And checking the schedule, there's actually the first pre-season game on tonight - Arizona vs. N'Orleans on the NFL Network. Man, it seems like the NFL starts earlier every year.
It should be year round just like basketball is.
Also, a sporting event takes more capacity than a regular channel because of all of the on screen movement, so its about 20 channels of HD capacity.
I'll tell you I'm getting so mad at DirecTV! They are making it so damned hard to switch.
First my son decides he wants the NFLST again this year and ponied up the money, and now BBCA-HD coming in time for Doctor Who.
I think it is a conspiracy!!
Why would you want to switch. They are a "premium" provider.
