I know a lot of providers have this channel in theory, but we've essentially heard over at AVSforum (where I manage the HD chart) that it's really just a poor upconverted SD signal, and that EWTN lacks the capability to have a full 1080i HD signal.

It may explain why DirecTV hasn't added it (even though many other providers have done so, including Cox in your area, who just added it a couple weeks ago), and at least help you to feel like you're not missing anything without this HD feed.

CenturyLink Prism carries it as well.
The HD feed is supposed to 1080i. The video quality of the EWTN YouTube channel looks better than upconverted SD.

I noticed that Chiller and Boomerang have been added to the Xtra package. Are they merging the Xtra and Choice Xtra Package into just the Xtra Package?

Looks like El Rey is open to Xtra as well. I have Xtra and it wasn’t available before. There is a free preview of Xtra going on now. Not sure if that has anything to do with it

Chiller and Boomerang are only part of the Choice Xtra Classic, Ultimate and Premier packages. I don't think we are getting the free preview of the Choice Xtra Classic package?

I used to be on Choice Xtra Classic until they moved me for whatever reason. Now on Xtra and get all three channels at the moment.

I think they're giving a free preview if you go to that on the man on chiller and you could download a movie that means you have it in your package if you can I download a movie on the man on chiller is not part of your package
If you can download a movie on the on demand for chiller that means you have it in your package if you can't download the movie it's not on your package

I saw that Verizon is dropping Chiller. Could Chiller have entered into a new agreement with AT&T to have it be on all their packages since it looks like most of the other providers are dropping it?

This happens everytime there's a preview of Xtra, the Choice Xtra Classic channels get opened up too.

As for Chiller, they haven't confirmed anything yet or set any shutdown date, but NBCU is letting multiple providers drop it in favor of the Olympic Channel and others drop it entirely. Cox is dropping it on November 8th, but as of last week's public notices AT&T hasn't made any mention of dropping it yet.

I'm hoping this week's transponder maps gives some ideas into what's next though after the 5 channels are added on Thursday. In last week's map they cleared up a bunch of lingering entries left over on D10 and D11 from the recent swap and might be prepping to put more things up in the vacated space.

Will DTV and UVerseTV be the next to drop it?

Chiller, El Rey and Boomerang are included as Preferred Xtra as well this could be why they are opened

What package you have today has no barring on what channels you will get during a free preview. It’s a free preview of those channels for everyone no matter what.

I see that FX and AMC have launched FX+ and AMC Premiere as on demand platforms with no adds. Could they not launch them as normal linear channels with no adds that you have to pay extra for? (And maybe premier hit programs an hour or something earlier on them) When I first heard about them this is what I thought they were?
