My app (Android) shows the 5 expected to be added in HD, but still shows Pop as SD.

It does say that Impact on 380 is in HD. I don't think this is the case, even though the channel exists. Spectrum has it.

Pop (273) is showing HD for me on the Android app starting tomorrow as well. Would be nice but not expecting to get this added in with the other channels tomorrow.

4 out of the 5 have on demand. 4 out of the 5 had the +, and still do, on the SD. But like the trend has been, they didn't bring the + to the HD. It irritates the crap out of me. I know you can get there by going to 1287 for example, but you shouldn't have to do that. The stupid CSRs won't get it through their heads that it's on their end.

I'm not impressed with FXMHD channel 258. Currently they're broadcasting the movie "The Blue Max" (1966). It's original aspect ratio is 2.36:1 (Widescreen). The aspect ratio on the Blu-ray release is 2.35:1 (Widescreen) yet FXMHD is broadcasting it with a aspect ratio of 13.7:1 (4.3). Video quality appears to be upscaled HD rather than true HD. Very disappointing. I hope this isn't the norm for FXMHD.

Maybe that's why it took so long to add? FXM is not in HD on my cable system, perhaps for the same reason.

Maybe the PQ isn't as good as other HD channels, but still a big improvement over FXM SD. Hopefully with other movies they show, we'll see an improvement.

While I agree that upscaled HD is a improvement over SD it's a far cry from true HD. And why broadcast a film in 4.3 that was shot in widescreen?

These movies are old. It's not a big deal until they show newer stuff. Old movies always look like crap, regardless if they're on bluray or not.

I have a extensive film library and I can assure you your statement couldn't be further from the truth. Some old movies on Blu-ray are transferred from the original negative while others are restored and remastered. Regardless age has nothing to do with how film looks. It's all about source material that's used.

Any old movie I've seen on TV looks like crap. I am not a big movie person so I would never buy one. I'll take your word for it, but people swear OTA is better than Directv and that's simply not true either, so I'll take it with a grain of salt. Restored shows like Seinfeld or Andy Griffith don't look that great compared to a modern show, regardless of what PQ buffs say.

Look at Island in the Sun now on FXMHD. The audio is immediately recognizable as from the 50s. Just dreadful. The picture is fuzzy. It's clearly not modern and no one will convince me it's as good as something from 2017.
