I would say for TBS West TNT West and TruTV West those will probably be added as soon as the merger between Time Warner and AT&T is complete and I don't see why they wouldn't add Turner Classic Movies West also

Free up bandwidth by getting rid of the HD porn channels. There is plenty of free porn on the internet.

    1. They only have ONE of those, Playboy HD, which isn't going anywhere. The rest of the adult PPV channels are SD only, and the few adult PPV events that are in HD use the event HD channels that share the same CINEHD pool with part time channels, so getting rid of those won't free up anything for HD.
    2. Contracts go both ways, just how DirecTV needs contracts to carry something, the same contracts say DirecTV can't just drop something on a whim.
    3. Considering that people have to actively subscribe to them monthly or order them as individual PPV selections, DirecTV/AT&T already knows exactly how much of their subscriber base actually uses them.
    4. As been mentioned countless times, there is no mythical bandwidth crunch. They have more than enough bandwidth at their disposal right now to add at least 30 additional HD channels, and potentially 18 more on top of that when 4K moves to RB next year. And even more after that when they shutdown MPEG2 and go MPEG4 only in a few years.

Don't hold your breath. The west coast feeds that U-Verse carries has nothing to do with that, it's just some grandfathered thing. Back in the early days of U-Verse they carried nearly all of them, but as renewals happened they limited them to the appropriate time zones, and now the only ones left are a few of the Turner channels and the ones that many other providers carry like premiums. (i.e. on the west coast U-Verse subscribers only get the west coast feeds of channels like USA, Discovery, TLC, Disney XD, Freeform, Bravo, MTV, HGTV, Food Network, etc)

The ONLY dual feeds DirecTV carries are the 3 major kids channels (because of the different dayparts), the 2 major Spanish networks, some premiums (which most digital cable providers also carry), the DNS feeds (which unless you are grandfathered you can no longer get both feeds), and Ion (which doubles as the LIL feed for west coast markets)

Looking forward to AHC HD and FXM HD especially. Quite a few old movies on FXM. Long overdue, but why now? Were the contracts up?

If thats the case then what are they waiting for? It seems like new contracts have been signed recently with in the past few years, or are they waiting for the AT&T contracts to run out?

I noticed FXM (258) is missing from my app. (IOS) I was checking to see what they were showing, so hopefully this means that it will go live soon.

I haven't watched that channel in SD, so does anyone know if the movies are unedited and commercial free? They had movies on demand in HD on 1258, but they had inserted (unskippable) commercials, so I only watched the one.

Nice to see another option, but in 2017 if it's not HD, I can't see tuning in.

Not only all that, but there is zero reason for DIRECTV to have east and west coast feeds of say tnt or USA. They show everything on the channel twice as it is now, at east and pacific times for shows. Suits is on at 6 and 9 pacific time so you’d gain nothing having the west coast feed.

When DTV goes all HD in 2019 anyone know what they will do with the HD Extra Pack? Will they just get rid of it and put those channels in one of their channel packages or make them available to all of their packages?

As long as they're making money from it I doubt they'll change it.

They aren't going all HD, they're going all MPEG4. There will still be some SD channels - all those international channels will stay SD, many of the infomercial/religious channels, the music channels. They'll have well over a hundred SD only channels still.

That's what I was still confused about. So they will still have SD duplicates but they will be MPEG 4 SD duplicates? Or will they have just have the ones that are SD only be MPEG 4?
