Nice list. The top three (and bottom two) would make many, many people happy. Right now DIRECTV’s goal is to make fat bank. Two PPVHD, GolTV and soon FSC. These channels all require additional $ out of my pocket just to watch them.

    PPVHD $5.99
    PPVHD $5.99
    GolTV (in Sports pack): $12.99
    FSC+: $14.99

So if I wanted to watch each channel this month, my bill would jump up $39.96.

Even though I’m happy with what I have, someone wake me when there’s actual HD added to the base packages.

FSC & FSC+ are 2 seperate channels. The $14.99 FSC+ isn't going HD next week, FSC is...which is in sports pack.

Also, the price for the sports pack goes down if you sub to other premiums. I sub to HBO, Starz, and Showtime...sports pack would cost me $8.00.

Thanks for the correction, far too many channel categories to remember. However, DIRECTV’s focus on $ channels is still prevalent. I don’t blame DIRECTV, just throw a bone or two to the customers with base packages.

I've heard that Netflix did that back in the day. But in the two years that I've had it if I send a movie in the mail at noon on Monday I get the next movie at noon on Wednesday. Always just 2 days. You're right about the streaming, most movies are not HD but it is free.

Me two. Never had more than two day turnaround. In fact, if the place that normally ships the DVDs to us is out, they send a message that day that it is shipping from another facility and it comes the next day also.

    Me three!

Netflix is just a two day turnaround for me.

Now, back to my rant. Where’s our AMC and BBC in HD?

I don't care about soccer but looking at the GOLHD guide I can't see a single HD program for the next 2 weeks. Waste of badwidth ?

My new TV can access the internet for streaming stuff and I'm thinking of going for the Netflix 2-week free trial and see how it works. A Netflix distribution center is about 20 miles away which should make even mailed stuff one day away.

It does not matter. Gol TV does not show Premier League. It belongs to FSC. Some Bundesliga and La Liga games should be in HD however.

I didn't think Gol had much EPL (or any for that matter). They have La Liga (Spain) and Bundesliga (Germany). I think also some Serie A (Italy). These leagues start after EPL.

Right now, its European pre season tournaments/friendlies, and South/Central American games.

Good Times with Gol online now, and FSC to come next week I'm only waiting on BBCA and AMC to be 100% satisfied!

What's the difference between channels 426 and 620? They have different schedules, but both are called GOLHD (prior to today both were called GOL), and both are unavailable in my 2004 Total Choice package.

Channel 426 in GolTV in Spanish, while channel 620 is the English version. The English version on only available in the Sports Pack.

There is a schedule problem as 620 guide info is from GolTV Canada.

620 seems to be showing a HD match right now. . . I think. They aren't advertising it as HD on the guide.

It's certainly widescreen, and when the camera is still it looks like HD to me. I'm seeing a lot of artifacting on panning motion tho --much more than I'd typically expect from HD. Somebody doing compression?

Edit: Looking somewhat better past the first 30 seconds. I may have just picked a really bad rapid pan/zoom to tune in on initially.
