Yup. It is alive.
How many more Soccer channels are there left to add. Maybe after every soccer channel is on we could get some national channels.
Anything new other than soccer stuff live today too?
How are soccer channels not classified as national channels?
You are correct. However, I think most of us feel “national” means "a channel we all get without paying additional money". Like $14.99 for a single channel.
We like free HD additions too.
Congrats to the football fans out there!
OK u soccer fiends rejoice! When can the rest of do the same?!? C'mon D* please add more national HDs, that don't require additional $$. Bring on AMC, DIY, BBC, E!, Fuse & for the wife: WeTV, Style, Lifetime Movie, TCM, HSN, QVC
Grab the popcorn, a Coke, and watch that paint dry!
I believe those were the last...
I'm just hoping that DirecTV will get CIG working on Fox Soccer Channel HD, Fox Soccer Plus HD, and GolTV HD, as the SD channels were some of the sports channels that were actually correct.
I have now edited my list by removing the two Fox Soccer Channels, as well as moving channels expected to now be available to "available".
Two soccer channels are in the sports package. The last is a la carte.
I suspect the OP means non-premium/non-ppv.
Now that the Soccer fans are happy, what about a festivus for the "rest of us " ?
DirecTV's site does say more HD channels coming soon.
I'm thinking someone needs to change the record on the record player... Its hard to tango to Lawrence Welk:nono2:
How do you ameliorate a tango?
I am willing to bet that the majority, if not the vast majority of people who have HD also have DVR's hence the desire to have the multiple versions of HBO, etc., in HD is perplexing, if you want to watch a movie (or a series) in HD that airs on the west coast version at 9 PM, it was on at 6PM and you could have recorded it........... It seems a waste of both bandwidth and subscriber money, not to mention time tangoing. No one who only subscribes to D* can see AMC, BBCA, etc., in HD.
Did 7 of the 14 1080p channels revert back to 1080i?
The issue, I'd be willing to bet, is that content providers wouldn't be as satisfied with a deal to only provide say the east coast version of their channel, if they offer two.
Use HBO as an example. I'm betting that they negotiate their contracts in a way that ensures/encourages that both east and west coast versions of their main channel are in included. The more chances they have to get eyeballs on their products, the better.
So, while I personally believe having both is a waste...I'm sure it is a delicate tango issue for DirecTV and the content providers.
I cannot find the Directv site announcement that more channels are coming soon. Does anyone have that link?
Good catch. Looks like the "more new HD channels coming soon" verbiage was removed from DIRECTV.com. This cannot be a good sign. :nono2:
Earlier today, it stated (as it has for months) that more HD channels were coming.
This afternoon it has disappeared!
