They have one of those annoying banner ads in the program guide advertising the "mad men" season debut but yet it wont be HD.

The Encore West Coast feed is supposed to launch in mid 2010. I don't recall any other HD announcements for the multiplex of Encore channels.

The link I provided details DirecTV's soccer programs that they offer, and this little tidbit is best

Trying to go somewhat on topic, on DirecTV's twitter account whenever they're asked about FSC HD they keep saying "we hope to have some information soon".

100% since they're owned by the same company as D* (Liberty Media). That's why we're the only provider with ALL of the Starz channels in HD

Alan, I also am anxiously awaiting TCM in HD. When did DirecTV advertise TCM in HD? I must have missed that.

AVSForum says "TBD" and they supposedly have "insider sources".

Would you be able to check and see if the La Liga channels 456-458 are showing up in your guide? I know there's no programming for awhile, but I was never able to get these even though I subscribe to the Premier package and the sports package. There was a thread about this last year, and I know others were having the same problem. I spent many hours on the phone with Directv and they were never able to tell me why I wasn't getting these channels and finally they gave me MLS Direct Kick for free.

If they are showing up, what type of Dish do you have?

I have a 5 LNB dish and received those channels last year.

As I write this, those channels do not appear in my guide.

I just noticed this too when I went to add all the UEFA channels back into my favorites list. Here's hoping that I'll finally be able to get these channels!!!

    Thanks!!!

DIRECTV Group merged with Liberty Entertainment, which was spun off of Liberty Media some time ago.

DIRECTV is not "owned" by Libery Media.

See, that's why it pays to be pessimistic. I don't see Satelliteracer confirming or denying the more optimistic posts on the August's small festivus.

With the expanded options, I'll say GolTV + Lifetime Movie Network. I hope for an outside chance at BBCA, but the last I heard they were distributed by Discovery Networks and I'm not sure whether a deal with them means agreeing to carrying something like Investigation Discovery. How many channels originally qualified as a festivus? Because apparently it will be less than that.

    No it's not...

Liberty Media split off Liberty Entertainment at the time of the Merger/Split off. Combined DIRECTV and Liberty Entertainment, into one new company.
Liberty Entertainment doesn't exist anymore, as of last December.

    http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...rger-with-the-directv-group-inc-70573607.html

Liberty Media is still the majority Stock Holder, but Directv is not "owned" by Libery Meida. I believe at the time of the transaction Libery Media held a little over 50% of the stock... not sure what the percentage is today.

This really isn't the right thread to discuss it though...

Long time D* subscriber (since 1996). I'm not leaving D* by any means at this time. Really like the service.

However, I am disappointed in the slow roll-out of additional HD channels now that D-12 is fully running and D-10 has been ameliorated (or however you spell that!). DIY, Style, Fox Soccer HD, BBC America, the Encore networks and others are now being shown by other distributers, and D* has been slow to pick these up. Would like for D* to show a little more urgency to get caught up in the HD race.
