Ill be happy when i know D12 is full, lot of wasted space right now on it
Yep, right up until the point when you want something they don't have the capacity for.
I'm not sure I would characterize it as "wasted space" so much as dormant capacity....to be more accurate anyway....
Specific use of all the sats will change over time...
"Why yes, an existing customer can have HD Free for Life - without autopay." Or more in line with this thread: "We'll be adding that HD channel any day now."
It wasn't just a misstatement made by a CSR ... it was a misstatement made by the CEO.
I'm glad they put the Coke machines back ... he was the CEO of Pepsico, not the founder. It was a job and it was over when he set foot at DirecTV. It does illustrate some of the silly decisions made by people trying to kiss up to the boss.
Besides, they had space for Coke machines. Why not have Coke available? (Just like HD - there is space - fill er up with the best stuff you got.)
Yeah, and I'm not a lazy bum as I lie around watching too much TV, I simply represent "dormant capacity." — Just trying to be more accurate.
Yeah... I was messing around recently after a recent post that seemed to cause a stir... and realized that DirecTV had 40+ HD channels that I could lose tomorrow and not care (that doesn't count PPV or RSNs). I watch what I watch, and while it's nice to have the selection, I rarely, if ever watch any of them.
I'd belong in the same camp as you, but as you can tell, I REALLY want an HD-DNS option for The CW. This Fall, I'll be watching (or wanting to watch) 7hours of programming on the channel... that's more than I watched of NBC and ABC last season! Unfortunately, I'm not sure the chances of this particular channel coming with D12 is very good...
He mention something about buying back a third of the company stock. Any idea about how much that would be.
Funny post. Because we already have ESPNews for quite some time. The Game 1, Game 2 and TeamH only illustrate how far behind your local cable sytem is.
That leaves Fox Soccer, Style, Fuse, G4 and History International.
Overall, points for DirecTV as the sports stuff is way more channels than what is on this list.
Well, I will admit that if D* adds 30 hd channels based on their professional expertise, that it'd be hard to imagine that my wishes wouldn't largely be fulfilled as to individual channels in that group.
But AMCHD seems to be a "hard get" right now; there is various evidence lately that is the case, so one really can't say for sure until it happens. As satrac likes to say "it takes two to tango".
This may not be indicative of what we're getting in August, but today I received the August issue of Access DirecTV Magazine -- the official guide published by DirecTV. The only new HD channel listed is Gol, so maybe we have a Festivus of one.
When it comes to the tango, looks like Rainbow has a sprained ankle.
Not really news there, they announced we're getting it back in May:
DirecTV Will Kick Off GolTV HD In August
Jennifer Lopez who had been on the weather channel ?
Now shes the lead meteorologist for KXAS-TV Dallas.
Yea she was a hottie.
Thats not what satracer said:
Or Directv, or both...:sure:
Agree with these posts. Not to extend the "hijacking" but I think the points are well made. I also think they are relevant to this thread in light of Mr. White's comments. We are anticipating use of HD channels from D12 and this is in part how DIRECTV has decided to allocate some of it's capacity.
Tony, I guess you're such a big sports fan you don't watch movies... 'cuz if you did, surely you wouldn't have failed to notice IFC HD.
I'd certainly like to see IFC HD and Sundance HD — among others. As for sports, personally, I watch hometown baseball & football, and that's all.
A cable company was able to add IFC-HD without the other Rainbow stuff (AMC,Sundance,WE) ?
Comments on International programming backs up a comment I made a few weeks ago about the spread of soccer channels. They are not aimed at the average american viewer. Soccer is not a big American viewer interest. However the Latin community loves, loves, loves, soccer. No suprise that D12 will probally have a large collection of sports channels aimed at the Latin viewer.
