Thank you Directv for another opportunity for service credits and free movie channels.
My customer retention rep was very generous this morning ;)

If it wouldn't have been #1, it would have been #2...

Either way, it's one of the most requested HD channels DirecTV is missing.

When looking at both the 2010 and 2011 polls, there are only 2 channels voted on by more then 37% of the respondents that are still not available after 9/9/2011.
    BBCA HD & TCM HD.
Which leads me to think that there's many different perspectives out there.

So for any new HD channel that is added, besides BBCA and TCM, there will be close to two-thirds of the DBSTalk population that voted who don't care. And there were almost 1500 who voted so the sample size is fairly robust.

Well thats good news. I honestly was hoping for NAT GEO WILD HD but it will be great to be able to watch the walking dead in HD this year. Congrats to all that wanted this channel, I know you're very happy. :joy:

That's why you need a HTPC that does automatic commercial skipping.

We've often been reminded that the forum's poulation is very tiny compared to the entire DirecTV customer base so our opinions really don't count for much. Or, have I misread these comments?

I used to think the same thing until I realized how much of the show is cut out here in the US. Now I watch the uncut version in HD from other sources.

It's not that our opinions don't count but rather they're skewed when compared to the regular subscriber.

AMCHD was the big deal (thank you D*). BBCA would be nice, but there are only two shows I care about (Sherlock and The Doctor (and BBCA didn't show Sherlock series 1)) and I'm fine with finding other sources there. I know some folks think Top Gear is great, but they probably rebuild carburators for fun, too.

When is D14 suppose to come online again. I have become addicted to soccer since last year World Cup and have added Fox Deports, Espn Deportes and Gala to my list.

Hmm, this could be my first post in this thread. Big fan, Long time listener, first time caller (on this thread)...

I just wanted to report some news relevant here and to a few of us 3D-ers with some quirky AVRs. Its looking like today DirecTV also made a change to the kind of signal that we see ESPN-3D. Long story short, there were many AVR's that couldn't process the 720p/SBS signal and right now I'm seeing boxing in 1080i.

2 of my wishes were granted today!

Hmmm, I wonder if I can get AMC and ESPN3D together to show me Mad Men and Walking Dead battle it out in 3D!

While never much of a soccer fan, despite living in London for two years, after FSC and GOL’s transition to HD during 2010 I now watch – and thoroughly enjoy – the EPL and Bundesliga (among other leagues).

It really wasn't that hard to figure out. AMC missing from the HD channel poll earlier this year was the biggest clue.

My HD channel viewing will now be complete. Only one more SD Breaking Bad and just in time for the Walking Dead. :)

To those familiar with AMC, do they ever do "marathons" of their original programming like Mad Men? I would like to catch up before the next season starts and would prefer to avoid having to rent.

    TIA
