AMC HD is nice but would liked to have had BBCA frist
I would be more excited about AMC HD if it was still commercial free like it was back in the day,but I'll take it.DVRs are great
Bring on H2 in HD.
I think Satelliteracer also deserves a VERY VERY BIG thank you, cause I am sure he helped in some ways to get AMC HD added!!!
Thank you for giving credit exactly where credit is due. I'm only a messenger, a role I enjoy. SatelliteRacer does many good things for DIRECTV customers.
Peter Falk, "Murder by Death"!
This is a great add.
My new top three is DIY, Cooking and TruTV.
Strongly concur! H2's new programming appears very interesting and, given its 48th-place ratings, maybe DirecTV can obtain this channel “on the cheap” a la Shorts HD (or so I assume).
I'm afraid Directv will be VERY selective on the new HD channels from now on.
I don't expect any more "shorts-like" because they need to use the space wisely.
I wonder why so many people want BBCA so bad. Doesn't it have just one series, really, Doctor Who? I haven't watched BBCA in a long long time, though, so I don't know. I do know there's a lot of reality and USA programming now on there.
I wonder why people troll so much. So there.
I think BBC America might be telling porkies. They said the exact same thing when BBCA HD was launched, yet no-one carried it for a long time. On their forums they avoided answering any question related to those "signed deals".
Yes, indeed. Tom, Sixto and, of course, Satelliteracer … everyone who deserves the credit … I appreciate them.
Top Gear too.
Some good news from Endgadget;
While DirecTV may tossing an old standard def look on the new DirecTiVo, beta testers got a treat tonight (even better than news AMC HD is on the way) when their boxes downloaded a brand new user interface. It's the HD UI that was mentioned during the last earnings call, and brings not only fully 16x9 formatted graphics but also, according to testers, a serious performance boost to satellite receivers. If you're in the test group restart your box and punch 0,2,4,6,8 to snag the new software and have a look for yourself, but if you're on the outside looking in hit the source link for one of DBSTalk's typical thorough walkthrough PDFs.
Perhaps we need a new poll on which HD channels we could happily lose. Shorts, west coast movie channel feeds, obscure sports stations, msnbc or foxnews (depending), etc.
...Although I suspect that DirecTV can get that data from tuning/favorites list info
um, isn't this stuff supposed to stay in the beta group?
Tell that to Engadget...
And the members who violated CE.
need MSNBC HD for NHL playoffs and olympics
