never had a problem with any of my vizios.
My guess is no.
And that would explain why the thread became derailed.
Even if there are no more HD additions it's been a good year for channel launches.
Though I'll continue to hold out hope that TV Land will launch next month, I've been very happy about the additions.
Not HD related, but the DirecTV app is now listing Ion West on channel #306 along with AXS.TV, so it appears that the rumored channel switch may soon be occurring.
3D will become mainstream when we have 3D porn available. :eek2:
Now THAT I can't wait to see! Oh! The images I can picture.
3D porn has been available for centuries - it's called sex.
I believe that your correct. It may be Blu Ray. I still think that holographic technology, will change that thinking, in a few years. We've had projectors for a good long time, so now is the time to figure out a way to make those projections 3D.
I'm still hoping for H2...beyond that, the channels I'd like to see in HD don't have HD feeds yet.
I think we may see TWCSportsNet Los Angeles soon. 2 channels in HD.
I have given up hope on PAC12, doesn't seem likely this year, and I think DirecTV is just going to wait out this season.
Not sure if this is HD related either, but just read a couple of articles this morning about reaching an agreement with ION like here;
DirecTV Agrees To Offer ION Television Broadcasts In HD
by David Lieberman Exec. Ed.
Curious, is this just a formal statement of the carriage agreement for the ION channels DIRECTV already carries, or could it mean that ION west in HD is coming as well along with this move to channel 306?
I'd say that 3D is becoming a "standard feature" on televisions. Not on the budget models perhaps, but certainly on the middle-of-the-road and up models.
From a manufacturers point of view it isn't terribly more expensive to produce any more, and it makes it much easier if you can put 1 type of screen (in various sizes) and chipset in your TV's than producing separate product lines.
It will just become one of the many features on a standard modern television, whether they are being used or not.
3D was never meant to replace regular HD television, it was always meant as an addition. So you won't see 100 3D channels any time soon, as there really is no need for it. But as 3D becomes a standard feature, I think it isn't outside the realm of possibilities that the number of 3D stations will grow to a number between 5 and 10.
Couldn't disagree more! Sex is not porn, and porn isn't necessarily (good) sex.
Yes, there are peep shows, and cheap shows in Mexico that are 3D.... just not available in the average home.
My wish list is still:
If all we get is Universal Sports before the start of the Giro, I will be happy.
Hard to tell what they mean. Maybe IONW will be in HD after all, but the apps on iPad and phone just show IONW in SD. Just have to wait and see.
Haha, yes I agree - I was just being cheeky. The thought of 3D video porn scares me though - there are some things I don't want popping out of the screen at me. :eek2:
Anyway, here's to H2, the rest of the available premiums in HD and my HD LiLs! Lots of movement according to Sixto's reports, so hopefully we're going to see some new additions (not that there was anything wrong with what we've seen so far - loving DIYHD!)
True, though I would say porn is rarely if at all "good" sex;
In fact many don't realize that "porn" (short for pornography) comes from the ancient Greek term "pornes," which means "prostitute."
And the "-graphy" suffix from the early Greek "graphios," as something written down or otherwise described in some fashion.
Therefore "pornography" --- "The writings or teachings of a prostitute."
Not to wax try and religious morals here, but that's hardly something "good" for anyone at anytime ....
OK, lets definitely get back to topic
I guess this is a good sign that we're always going off topic. DIRECTV has addressed most of our HD needs. Thanks DIRECTV.
Now, I want my Lakers. Please add TWC SportsNet HD.
While I put most West feed chances at slim until we move closer to 2016, Ion's dual use as a national channel and a local channel ups it's chances somewhat in my mind... though their limited amount of original programming still puts their chances at slim in my mind until some time down the road.
FWIW, Swanni says it'll get done by the end of this month..... FWIW!
For next update - Fox Sports Kansas City. And it's not that the HD is only part time. The channel itself is only on the air part time.
