Flix and Showtime Family Zone are both in HD now, both an east and west feed.

These don't show in my Guide and I have Premier pck. Flix shows as SD and the Family Zone doesn't show up at all

He's saying they now have HD feeds available to launch, not that DirecTV has them in HD (or at all in Family Zone's case). Up until around May they didn't have HD feeds at all.

I have ROKU and you are right.
I would think streaming rights for RSN`s on Foxsportsgo were renegotiated, but HD carriage on Directv couldn`t be?
My monthly RSN fee from Directv has doubled over the last 2 years.
I really think it should have been upgraded to full time HD for the fees we Ohioans pay. And we won`t start on why Spectrum offer both feed as part of their RSN, so the Blue Jackets problem doesn`t exist.

This obviously involves credits on your account, yes?

I know this is not what you should have to do and I agree that the people of Ohio are getting screwed, but if you call and complain about the lack of HD or anything at all, they are being extremely generous right now. They are handing out $30 to $70 discounts for a year for little to no bargaining. In addition to that, they will also discount the sports pack $10 for 6 months or a year. Those discounts and the sports pack should cover the RSN fee, give you the Blue Jackets this season, and open up all other RSN content in HD. Not to mention the other sports you get. That will fix it for a year and give them another year to get their act together. There is rumor of ESPN buying the Fox RSNs (Awful Announcing has had several articles about it recently) and if that happens, this mess could all go away, too.

Why can we pay the regional sports fee part time. Just like the HD.

This isn't the HD you're anticipating, but it looks like Directv added a new SD channel according to the Gary's weekly transponder pull. Cowboy channel, channel 603. According to Wikpedia it is in SD on Dish, Verizon and Uverse also, so looks like it might not even be offered in HD. But hey, a new channel for everyone to complain about it not being in HD :)

It actually IS offered in HD, as it simply took over the existing (HD) channel space of FamilyNet, which is/was also owned by Rural Media group.
It's in HD on Spectrum, which previously carried FamilyNet in HD.

Considering what the bulk of it's programming consists of, I don't think it's a big (HD) loss...but WHY in the world it would be placed in the "RSN/sportschannels" channel block seems bizarre to me...

I don't have a date yet. Pay attention to the apps for now, new channels usually show up there 2-3 days prior to going live with guide data starting at 6am ET the day they go live.

Cowboy Channel is now owned by the folks who own RFD TV.

As Rich mentioned, it is indeed in HD throughout the Spectrum footprint. Charter and Bright House Networks had it as FamilyNet, and then added it in the Time Warner Cable areas.

Anyone know if DTV plans on expanding the local channels to their streaming app on the web? I am not talking DTV NOW just the one that comes with your DTV account? I am in the St. Louis area and when I log into DTV.com and go to the online streaming guide the locals aren't available for streaming.

You've asked this before, the answer is still the same. DirecTV needs a streaming deal with the station owners and those station owners need a streaming deal with their affiliated network. For St. Louis they would need a streaming deal with Sinclair (ABC), Tribune (Fox), Tegna (NBC) and Meredith (CBS).

Right now they only have deals for the NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox O&Os, as well as Hearst owned ABC stations.

Sorry about that I just thought maybe their was an update on it. Just curious the Amazon Fire Tablet has them but the PC doesn't. Do they have to do separate streaming deals for each type of APP? Thanks.

The app uses mobile DVR for streaming to provide all the channels, the website doesn't and only provides the channels DirecTV has the streaming rights to.
