That's close to what both of my DVRs (HR20-700 and HR23) have slowed down to in the past few weeks. When I hit Page Up or Page Down on the guide, it can take up to 15 seconds to move to the next page, and that's not counting the 15 seconds or more it took just to get the guide to come up.

Yes, but the poster stated he had an HR24... a MUCH faster unit.

Amazon.com put up a pre-order for Season One of "The Walking Dead" on Blu-ray. I'll be watching TWD that way....

Because of this, I'll be fine as long as DirecTV adds AMC-HD prior to the season premiere of "Breaking Bad" and the series premiere of "Hell On Wheels" next Spring.

Though doubtful, I am still hoping for BBC America HD prior to the series premiere of "Outcasts" and the "Doctor Who" Christmas special next month.

When Amazon puts up a pre-order of Breaking Bad one or two weeks into the season, will you then be fine with that until the next season of Mad Men premieres, which you will also probably be able to pre-order on Amazon, and so on and so on?

Your position on AMC in HD seems to be the same position people who don't pay for television service at all.

HR 22 here, and I am getting the same thing. Usually this type of thing happens after an update, but I checked my firmware/software version, and it is still the same one from a few months ago, so not sure what is causing the slow down.

I think the DVR's are rebelling because they don't have any new HD channels to display on the guide. My research has shown that a large majority of DVR's are AMC-HD and BBCA-HD fans....:D:D

Also, I noticed that the price for the HR-24 just went up from $199 to $299 recently. That couldn't be in anticipation of a number of new purchases because the older models are mysteriously slowing down...could it?? NAW!!!:nono2:

I think THIS is the most depressing news I've seen lately on the HD anticipation front.

That means even more PPV and premiums in our future. More HD nationals don't even seem to be on the radar.

Premiums aren't national? I fail to understand the logic here...

The better they are doing financially, the better the outlook for future products and services.

Premium HD channels are national HD channels. The more the merrier.
