I anticipate within 3 weeks after I cancel DirecTV to go to Dish, they will announce BBCA HD and HI HD and maybe AMC HD :D

But since I got an upgrade from D* less than a year ago my contract was updated and I would prefer to avoid the ETF .

At least I don't have to depend on satellite internet anymore. :D

Why would you think they will add the new HD channels that you want with the next satellite if they didn't do it with this one?
    The capacity is there now.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

The HD leader has added to its total this year with the addition of 23 network HD, 14 Cinema HD, and 2 3D channels so far. I look forward to more HD channels being added this year and next year. I anticipate that they will offer additional channels when favorable terms are reached rather than rushing into deals which would be bad for business. I anticipate that they will also continue to retain more channels than their competitor.

...don't remind me. Oh well, recruiting is extremely strong now and will pay off in the next couple of years.

I was looking at your HD channel list comparison. IMO the totals are skewed. I think the ones that matter to most people are these:

Obviously DTV feels differently as they continue stacking up the PPV and sports HD channels.

Oh, and definitely a nice commercial you gave there. I read that as if Andy Garcia was saying it.

...and others might not find those as important as some of the other channels...that's the beauty of it....selections and choices.

Well, I didn't say others wouldn't feel differently. My opinion is that most people care most about standard and premiums. Of course, that's just an opinion.

I see great minds think alike. That is why I put the “HD channels (Standard and Premium only)” in my signature.

I wanted to cut through the fluff and get to the meat & potatoes.

But to be fair, if you dig PPVHD, you’ll have 400+ opportunities to watch “The Karate Kid” this month alone. Just in case you miss it the first 300 showings, you’ll have another 100 to choose from. :D

There's no need to apologize. Teams that throw 60 yard bombs leading 69-13 in the 4th quarter ought to be ashamed. Wisconsin will get what's coming to them eventually...you're not a "big time" team just because you run the score up on Indiana, Minnesota and Austin Peay.

And I laughed outloud when the coach tried explaining "we were going to take a knee -- on the very next play!" after the game.

Whole group of them should be embarrassed.

    Anyway back to topic :)

    Then again....since Indiana had 0 defense...it really didn't matter.

    After all....Steve Spurrier doesn't coach Wisconsin...

Excuse me but the whole BCS system makes teams run up the scores. So to bad if you want a BCS system you will get blow out games - deal with it!

Sorry...I wasn't talking about football. Indiana University never has been and never will be known for football.

OK, it confirmed. Clearly we need something to talk about. Now would be an awesome time for SR to drop a bomb on this thread.

So its your theory that D* is planning to launch D14 just as, the Duke might have said, an "auspicious display"? Because else why bother?

To put more PPV on it? No, they have 34 *empty* channels on D12 they could have put more PPV on if that was their plan.

2011 will see D12 largely get filled up, with some spare capacity left to tide them over to D14.

    I'll predict 15-25 additional non-ppv HD on D12 in 2011.
