Just because you have a disagreement with your significant other doesn't mean you're going to file for divorce. Nobody's perfect and no tv provider is perfect.

I'm far more suspicious of those here in the forum that can't tolerate a single criticism of Directv, than those that voice their concerns about the service.

Only speaking for myself, I in no way equate my choice of TV Provider to anything remotely having to do with my relationship with my wife.

This coming from a Huge TV fan too, by far I prefer TV series to Theatrical Releases.

Also just making an observation for myself,

I would think that anyone that places their Respective TV Provider Choice into the same Category as having various disagreements with their significant others, said person should expect to be disappointed more often than not.

Not meant as a criticism just an observation.

Though I wonder how high the Divorce Rate would skyrocket if all it involved was paying a $20 A month ETF with the max months being 24.

Makes no difference as far as the main point is concerned.

That said though iceturkee my apologies for getting the gender thing wrong.

Still though you are to be commended for the proactive action.

Hope it works out to your satisfaction.

I just question the need for this anticipation thread. It appears we continue to rehash the same things and it appears nothing significant coming in the near or distant future. Maybe we should just have an HD Programming thread and leave it at that.
Also, is fun to look back at all the posts and hype when D12 was about to be launched and then following launch...all the talk of all the channels we were going to get (and i'm not talking about PPV, sports and extra charge packages).
So other than the obvious stockholders, employees of D or whomever that continue to dispute anyone that gives a negative view of D, can you really be happy with the outcome of the hype of D12? (and don't give us the bull of counting all the PPV and extra charge programming).

Clearly with 3,000 posts in a thread that gets replaced every 3 months .. there's a bit of interest in posting .. If for no other reason, that is the need for this thread.

The December 2010 edition of DirecTV's ACCESS Magazine arrived in the mail today and they promptly removed Shorts-HD from the DirecTV Channel Lineup and HD listings....No trace of it anywhere in the magazine....

You may remember that the November 2010 edition of ACCESS had announced and had listed Shorts-HD coming to Channel 568 in the HD Extra Pack....

Meanwhile, tomorrow DISH will be adding yet another HD channel--- Pixl-HD on their Channel 388... Plus, Movieplex (but in SD) in the HD Platinum package....

I subscribe to Comcast principally to receive HD LIL – not provided by DirecTV in my DMA –and multiple basic HD networks also not available from DirecTV. I don’t discern a material difference in HD picture quality emanating from Comcast and DirecTV (video from both sources is processed through a VP50Pro). I therefore experience neither “super crappy compression” from Comcast nor a “crappy DVR” since I use a Tivo rather than a Comcast box.

On the other hand, I share your enthusiasm for DirecTV sports offerings, which has translated into 16 years as a customer (time really does fly!)

The magazine listed Shorts-HD as a new HD channel launching in November 2010 (already live on Channel 568) and not as a "future/coming soon" HD channel....

Looks like you're going to have one busy active signature during the next few weeks ---- DISH has another 7 HD channel slots uplinked in test mode right now.... (Source: Satellite Guys)

And who knows if E!, Style, G4, & Versus are safe, in HD &/or SD - since they TOO are CC properties...
