Another Dr. Who special not in HD again. Dr. Who Christmas special is not been seen in HD from BBC America.
I wish Directv would broadcast some of the popular channels in HD. I have and will not paid for the Cinema movie channel when I can rent them at a cheaper price.

BBCA is on a list of channels people here want to have in HD if only DirecTV would just do it...

Popular channel? It's popular here, but not even top 30 overall.

Just for comparison, I checked the channel lineup for both Fios and Comcast here in the Richmond, VA and neither of them offers BBCA in hd either. So on the Christmas of 2010, I stay a OK D* subscriber.

Being 49 years old, I remember those days well, and agree with you, commercials are getting way out of line. When you have to ffwd through 5 minutes of commercials, and commercials seem to be popping up more frequently throughout a program, you know there is a problem. I also have fear of the day when BIG BROTHER decides we cannot FFWD through commercials.

For now it works well for me, i.e. I don't mind ffwd through the commercials, but should I be forced to watch them, then my attitude will change accordingly, as will the types of services I will be subscribing to.

I Skip thru the Commercials using the 30 Second Skip Button and I can't believe how many Commercials there are on Golf Events particularly when you get to the Last 9 Holes on the Last Day of the Event.

There are like 5 or 6 Commercials as I have to hit the 30 Second Skip Button 5 or 6 times to get back to the Golf Event.

Absolutely Amazing and God Forbid when we lose the Ability to FF or Skip thru Commercials!!! :nono2:

I'd rather have CNNI! CNN dabbles in news. CNNI covers news.

If we provide the eyeballs, maybe DirecTV will work harder to get the HD channel. The first step is to watch BBCA. This year I'll watch it live on BBCA since they fulfilled their end of the bargain by delivering it on Christmas Day. I'll track down an HD copy and enjoy it in its full glory at a later date.

I love BBCA but like others lament it isn't in HD. Oh, but I do get channels I have NEVER watched in either SD or HD in my package that I could easily do without in happy trade for BBCA in HD.

News does not depend on poitical orientation. Facts are apolitical.

Even the non-HD versions from thebox look much better than the downscaled, overly-compressed, bitstarved programs on Directv's BBCA channel (and no commercials, either).

Should that start to happen, I suspect an avalanche towards alternative delivery systems.

As to FF, I go to 4, for about 12 seconds, getting me through 4 minutes of commercials.......

Shame that we don't have it.... BBC America not being in hd is not a huge concern to me but I still wish we all had it.

I wish it were True but you can Skew things any way an Editor or Producer wants to and you can Exclude or Include News Events based upon your bias and you can Editorialize after you report it based on your bias and it happens all the time.

Why do you think a lot of people refer to CNN as "Communist News Network". They believe it is slanted towards the Left!!!

Also, a lot of people believe that "Fox News" tends to lean towards the Right.

What happened is what happened, and is not subject to right/left. Unofrtunately, thats where it ends.

Once an observer sees what happens, it gets tainted with point of view. Add to that our habit of engaging in logical fallacy like 'post hoc ergo propter hoc" and slippery slope, things get messy. And that's without the Glen Beck Nazi footage.

Today's Doctor Who concert was nice. Of course HD would have made it better.

Glenn Beck is opinion. He has absolutely nothing to do with the news programming on Fox News. Just like O'Reilly, Hannity and Greta.

That said, I'd love to have HLN-HD, as well as CNNI and BBC World in any resolution!
