Correct, CBS is not there today. They've kind of been weird in that the station is low power, is owned by the local cable company and if you didn't have cable it was very difficult to get it over the air. Not sure if they're playing hardball or what.

Well... that's all the announced markets for this year except for Lima, OH...

Hopefully they can watch "Glee" soon... :)

Actually the Directv HD Locals page changed Lima, OH to 2013 a couple of months back.

After checking with DIRECTV, apparently negotiations have not gone smoothly. I think BendBroadband (which owns the station) is very much playing hardball. This might never get resolved.

I guess I will delay changing my service address after all! These contract negotiations are getting really old. It seems we lose programming from one provider or another at least a couple times a year. I wish customers had a say in it...

Isn't the local CBS just a retransmission of KVAL from here in Eugene? That is what I always saw in the hotel room when I would stay there.

That's possible; it used to be a feed from KOIN in Portland. All I know is that Bendbroadband has always been difficult to deal with. When I asked for a waiver so I could get the LA feed for CBS, it was denied by cable company. Because of homeowner restrictions I could not get KBNZ over the air so I felt my waiver request should be approved. I had to contact a friend who is a VP at the cable company to get the waiver and he said he couldn't understand why it was denied. Sounds like someone there who is in the pipeline has it in for DIRECTV. Sure hope this gets resolved soon; I don't enjoy LA stations.

I live in Sunriver, OR and contacted Bend Broadband asking them when we could expect the local HD CBS feed for DirecTV. I got a phone call from a representative and an email from a VP who was on vacation! This was his response:

"We are just wrapping up negotiations for carriage with DTV this week. Terms and conditions have been agreed to, we are basically just waiting for them to send final contracts for our signature. They have KBNZ staged for launch already in SD and HD, so I would not expect much delay following signatures.
The other local affiliate deals were negotiated before us, which is why they have launched already. We look forward to providing you with CBS content shortly. Thanks in advance for your continued patience."

I'm very impressed with their customer service! Looks like we should have the local CBS HD channel any day now!

Bend Broadband gets my vote for customer service of the year award.

Certainly is good news but personally I wouldn't vote for any award for them.
    Thanks for the info.

Are there any markets left which DirecTV does not offer locals?
